Lost sight of your New Year’s fitness resolutions or simply want to take the first step in your yoga journey? Trial passes are a great way to get a feel for the kind of fitness and yoga classes that are right for you. If you’re looking to get started, PURE Fitness has just launched its Trial Passes that allow you to participate in a variety of classes – including beginner-friendly fitness and yoga classes in Singapore. Not sure what to expect? Here are just some of the classes that are perfect for beginners.
PURE Yoga classes
Want to pick up yoga but haven’t a clue where to start? PURE Yoga’s beginner sessions give an overview on essential postures and movements that both build physical strength and improve your mental and spiritual state – all in tastefully designed surroundings with premium facilities. Experienced practitioners and beginners alike can join a wide variety of classes for all fitness levels.
Hatha
This non-vinyasa based asana (“posture”) practice focuses on connecting body and mind to increase awareness and stability. Hatha can also incorporate pranayama (breath regulation), chanting and meditation. This yoga class is a great option for beginners because it teaches fundamental poses and builds a foundation for other Hatha classes.
Yin-Yang
This beginner yoga class focuses on the asana practice, which blends strengthening and softening elements to balance the body. Because it’s combined with long-held deep stretches it also helps to foster a focused and meditative mind. Like the Hatha class, it includes some pranayama, chanting and meditation.
Yin
Looking for beginner yoga classes with an emphasis on stretching? Yin yoga is a healing practice that’s focused on realigning and also stretching the connective tissues of the body. By holding long-held deep stretches, the class will align you with breathing and cultivate a meditative mind. This is an ideal class for anyone looking to stretch their bodies without too much physical effort.
Warm and Relaxing Stretch
This class uses a mildly heated room as its setting, and requires moderate physical effort. Like Yin yoga, it’s another option for stretching out your body. The class focuses on opening the body and soothing the mind through gentle poses and the use of props. The class features more seated and supine postures and some longer asana holds.
PURE Fitness classes
Got some workout goals you’re keen on hitting? Trial classes at PURE Fitness are a great starting point! Here, you’ll have access to world class facilities and exciting fitness programmes. You’ll be on a path to a fitter, better you, even as a complete beginner. Additionally, you’ll get to choose from a variety of classes that focus on toning your body, building muscle, relieving tension, or improving your cardio fitness.
Cycle
If you like cycling but would rather avoid the blistering heat, why not try a cycle fitness class? These intense cardiovascular workouts utilise a stationary bike and are usually around 45 minutes long. The routines are also designed to emulate terrain and real cycling situations like hill climbs, sprints and interval work.
Bodypump
Want to build mass and tone, and shape your muscles? PURE Fitness’ Bodypump programme is the class for you! With a focus on barbell and weight exercises, this resistance training fitness class will work your major muscle groups. You’ll go through a series of weight-room exercises that include squats, presses, lifts and curls. It’s also suitable for a variety of fitness levels as you can adjust your weights for a personalised workout.
Bodycombat
PURE Fitness’s Bodycombat fitness class is a fiercely energetic program that draws inspiration from popular martial arts disciplines like karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai. In these intense classes, you’ll strike, punch, kick and kata your way to superior cardio fitness. Unlike many combat-based fitness programs, there’s no one-to-one contact or sparring, and no equipment is required.
Pilates
If you prefer something a little less intense, Pilates fitness classes are a great low-impact, mat-based way to exercise. The classes focus on strengthening and stretching the deeper muscles along with building strength without bulk. Pilates also helps to improve flexibility and agility while making you less prone to injuries.
