It’s the season of Christmas and New Year parties and gatherings, but planning an office party can be a challenge – especially when you have to manage your colleagues’ expectations! The setting at the two restaurants – Bukit Timah and East Coast – is casual and relaxed, so it’s the ideal spot for a well-deserved end-of-year dinner with your colleagues. What’s more, both outlets are kid-friendly, so you have the option of including your team’s families in your office party.
With a lush green backdrop, Picotin Bukit Timah offers a panoramic view of the Champions Public Golf Course in a serene, semi-outdoor setting with ample space. If you’re planning to host a private function, the restaurant has a sound system and projector, and can host up to 250 people in total. Other amenities include a nine-hole golf course, a 36-hole outdoor mini golf and areas for team-bonding activities such as treasure hunts or bingo. Picotin East Coast, meanwhile, is housed in a beautiful two-storey colonial building that holds up to 200 people in total – 120 indoors and 80 outdoors. Entertainment-wise, there’s table football and a snooker table in the alfresco dining area.
The grub
Tuck into hearty European fare served in generous portions. An easy, elegant starter is the asparagus, Parma ham and poached egg salad ($20). You also won’t go wrong with the classic tomato and mozzarella salad ($18): fresh, plump and juicy heirloom tomato pieces served with a giant mozzarella ball and a flavourful pesto sauce on top. For mains, get the whole roasted spring chicken ($25), served with a sweet red wine sauce on the side, as well as a medley of herbed potatoes, carrots and shimeiji mushrooms. Another shareable item is the whole baked red snapper with pesto potato and sauce vierge ($32). Paired with a refreshing lemon and apple rocket salad, this huge fish is doused in a tangy olive and Roma tomato sauce to offset any fishiness. No wonder it’s a popular pick!
