How to make health and fitness a lifestyle

16th November 2021 by Amy Greenburg 3 Min Read

If you’re looking to get fit and develop healthier habits for 2022 and beyond, a personal trainer in Singapore can certainly help. But, it’ll take more than just any gym with a personal trainer to achieve the sustainable results you’re after. Here’s how UFIT Health & Fitness can help you achieve your fitness goals once and for all.

A personal trainer in Singapore – and so much more

If your goal is to lose weight and get fit, exercise will definitely help. But exercise alone may not get you the long-term results you want. Nutrition and lifestyle changes are important, too!

UFIT has been a leading fitness provider and personal trainer in Singapore for the past decade. So, it’s safe to say they know a thing or two about what it takes to get lasting results. There are now four UFIT hubs (Club Street, One-North, Orchard and Fairmont Hotel, Raffles City) across Singapore, each serving as a one-stop shop for achieving your health and fitness goals.

UFIT Singapore is more the just a gym with a personal trainer. It's a holistic health hub

So, whether you’re looking to build strength, get in shape or improve your health for the better, UFIT Health & Fitness can help. Here’s what you can expect.

#1 Tailored, trackable training

UFIT isn’t just a quick fix to help you shed some pounds. Rather, it’s about setting goals, and looking at the bigger picture: strength, mobility, and living a long, healthy and active life. Key to achieving these all-important goals is personal training that’s completely customised. At UFIT, each plan is tailored to an individual’s body, goals, lifestyle, medical history and previous injuries.

It all starts with a health consultation to assess your needs and goals. You’ll be asked some questions about your lifestyle, and offered an Inbody Scan, which measures muscle, body composition and BMI. All your data is saved under your profile in the TrueCoach app, so your progress can be tracked along the way.

Also included in the app? Real-time messaging, exercise videos, healthy eating ideas and more.

#2 An all-encompassing approach to health

Unlike your average gym with a personal trainer, UFIT offers a holistic approach to health and fitness. So, in addition to one-on-one training, you can count on your coach to help you with other aspects of your wellbeing.

This includes nutrition guidance – for example, advice on when and what to eat around training sessions. You’ll also hear a suggested daily calorie intake and get practical strategies to avoid common pitfalls.

And, the health and wellness offerings don’t stop there. By signing up for personal training at UFIT, you’ll get access to the gym’s on-site team of nutritionists, health coaches and rehab specialists. They’ve even got osteopaths, physiotherapists, and massage therapists on-site to help maximise your performance and prevent injuries.

#3 A vibrant fitness community

Community is the foundation of everything at UFIT. In fact, it’s one of the original fitness communities here in Singapore. More like a club than a regular gym, it’s where clients can reach their goals and celebrate those achievements together.

There are even “mini communities” you can join within the UFIT community! For instance, the recently launched UFIT Endurance programme offers a fitness community for like-minded athletes looking to traithlon-train in an inclusive, supportive environment. Athletes of all levels can be a part of the Triathlon Squad, which includes daily swim, bike and run sessions, and a team of endurance-specific physiotherapists, osteopaths, strength trainers and nutritionists on hand to help every step of the way.

#4 Loads of group classes

Group classes are also a great way to get fit and social at the same time – and a great way to complement your personal training package for greater variety. UFIT’s got plenty of them daily, too, across nine locations island-wide, including Club Street, Fort Canning, Bukit Timah, East Coast and Sentosa.

From HIIT sessions and fast-paced Metcon at Tanglin Rugby Club, to tennis at UFIT’s Savitar Tennis Centre at the Fairmont Hotel, and outdoor yoga in the Botanic Gardens, there’s really something for everyone.

Plus, you can look forward to some brand new performance-based classes at the Club Street hub, as well as six-week tailored programmes. Indoor group classes are kept small, with a maximum of six people per class. This way, you’ll enjoy the group energy while still getting enough personalised attention to ensure you’re doing the exercises correctly.

A word from a UFIT community member

Michelle has had great success at UFIT Health & Fitness, after first working with her physio, Jade, to heal an injury. She then began training three times a week with her personal trainer, Dylan, to build strength, confidence and overcome her injury. Here, she shares her top tips on getting started on a fitness journey.
