Check out this new Raffles Place gym!

6th October 2021 by Amy Greenburg 2 Min Read

We chat with the guys behind Meta Performance, a new boutique personal fitness training gym in Singapore that specialises in sustainable lifestyle and body transformations.

A focus on sustainable body transformations

Wanting to lose weight and shake off the excessive wine-and-dine habits that can come with working in the oil and gas industry, colleagues Sean and Qingyao decided to give personal fitness training a try. But, working with their trainers Seb and Brendan proved to be more than just a success in the strength and stamina department. The four became close friends, and Sean and Qingyao realised that, with Seb and Brendan’s help, they could drop the weight and effectively keep it off. It was all about making some key lifestyle and dietary changes.

Inspired, the two clients-turned-fitness-enthusiasts teamed up with Seb and Brendan to launch Meta Performance. Located at Raffles Place, the new personal training gym is all about long-term sustainable results rather than short-term weight-loss solutions. The gym’s spa-like facilities, high-end equipment, shake bar and fun neon signs are all great extras!

“We knew fast results were easily achievable. But, maintaining those results is the real challenge,” says Sean. “We founded Meta Performance on the belief that education and sustainability is the best approach. We want our clients to eventually be able to ‘graduate’, able to maintain their body transformations and, at the same time, have sustainable lifestyles.”

Personal fitness training with a holistic approach

Understanding that every single body is unique, the Meta Performance team customises individual workouts for each and every client. This includes helping clients set realistic deadlines to their goals and keeping them accountable every step of the way.

“Not only do we focus on achieving clients’ goals, but we also go beyond that to ensure every client is functioning well on the inside,” says Seb.

To do this, Meta Performance takes an all-encompassing approach to health, factoring in more than just exercise alone. In addition to customising diets for clients to continue with in the long run, the team works with them on managing injuries and stress levels. They also help clients make small lifestyle changes that can benefit their long-term health.

Additionally, clients can expect daily emails and messages from their trainers to make sure they’re staying on track – and on the way to becoming the best versions of themselves.

That being said, the Meta Performance team’s end goal is to see happy clients who can be independent in both their training and nutrition selection process.

“We love being able to help our clients achieve their goals and continue to integrate their ‘new habits’ within their lifestyles,” says Brendan. “Having helped someone become the best version of themself and seeing them being able to live their life to the fullest gives us priceless satisfaction.”

Qingyao agrees, saying, “Passion is what drives us. Satisfaction is what fuels us. Hearing how our ‘Meta way’ has changed so many lives for the better, and how amazing our clients feel after each training session, is what keeps us motivated!”
