Whether you’re on the hunt for biodynamic and organic wines, or just want to find fun things to do in Singapore, here’s the perfect event to head to. Italian wine online retailer Bacco Wines is hosting its next Boutique Italian Wine Fair on Saturday, 9 June, from 2pm to 6pm. This wine tasting event lets you sample some of the best boutique wine labels from all over the Italian peninsula – read on to see what you’ll find!
What to expect
Italy leads the world in terms of wine production levels; countless vineyards across the country have been nurturing grapes and developing outstanding wines for generations. At the upcoming June fair, you’ll get to try over 20 tasting pours of organic wines from small, boutique wineries all over Italy, and enjoy exclusive sale prices on Bacco’s range of wines, glasses, fridges, wine guides and extra virgin olive oil from the retailer’s organic Calabrian winery, iGreco. And don’t worry – there’ll be plenty of snacks to go around to prevent you from getting too tipsy!
Fun themes
Bacco never fails to come up with interesting themes for its wine fairs, and this upcoming event is no exception. The focus on 9 June will be on the summer holidays, and wines will be categorised according to vacation preferences – from adventurous getaways with mountain trekking to relaxing beach breaks. Visitors can choose different vinos in line with what they look out for in a holiday.
Past events
If you’ve not been to a Boutique Italian Wine Fair, here’s an insight from previous events. In March, the fair featured a geographical theme to guide visitors around the different regions of Italy. As far as wines go, a highlight was the Zero Infinito 2014 IGT by Pojer & Sandri, an unusual drop that is vinified without the addition of any chemical substances in the vineyard or in the cellar. Last September, the movie-themed wine fair grouped wines into different categories, from famous international grapes to local Italian vines. There was also a selection of more unusual and unknown wines, such as an orange wine (made naturally from white grapes with the skins and seeds) and red Barbera grape vinified as a white wine – all tied together under movie themes like The Usual Suspects and The Italian Job.
