Want to celebrate Oktoberfest in Singapore? It might be a bit warmer than Germany, but this authentic Bavarian celebration will have free-flow German food, singing, dancing and lots of beer, of course! Get ready to party to those oompah bands…
From 10 to 13 October 2019, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore is going all out with its first Oktoberfest celebration (6pm to 11pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 12pm to 4pm on Sunday). Taking place in the Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza, the four-day outdoor extravaganza promises a true volksfest experience. It all starts with the tapping of the first barrel and a shout of ‘O’Zapft is!’ – a long-time German tradition that signals the start of Oktoberfest. Prost!
Beers and bites
Look forward to Paulaner’s special Oktoberfest Bier on the drinks menu, along with other types to toast with. The $70 entrance fee includes a welcome pint (or a glass of wine) along with free-flow food; subsequent drinks are $10 each. Or, if you like, you can grab 10 pints for $80. Hey, we’re not judging: it is the world’s biggest beer celebration, after all!
Also, party-goers can enjoy Jägermeister in mini bottles, a selection of Leopold Wines and alcohol-free beer options, including Paulaner Weissbier and Alpirsbacher Klostrbrau non-alcoholic beers.
Enjoy your drinks with all-you-can-eat, authentic German delicacies from Frieda restaurant at Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski. Think pretzels with Obatzda spread (a traditional Bavarian cheese appetiser), German Weisswurst with sweet mustard, grilled sausages and German pork knuckle!
Music and merry-making
You’ll definitely want to grab a group of friends for this bash. It’s a party packed with activities and entertainment, including live performances by German folk group, the Anton Show Band. We’re especially looking forward to the chicken dance-off (a tried-and-true Oktoberfest tradition) and “beer karaoke”.
Oh, and there are games! Can you chug a beer stein faster than anyone else? Or maybe you fancy competing in a beer-stein-holding competition or taking on the “longest pretzel chain” challenge.
In addition, there’s a lucky draw with prizes that include dining vouchers for the hotel’s Frieda restaurant and Berthold Delikatessen, a staycation at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore and a stay at Kempinski Munich.
