Off the beaten track: Con Son Island

Con Son Island

In a cluster of 15 islands and islets off the southern coast of Vietnam sits Con Son Island – an island with a long and tragic history. Used as a prison complex by the French during the 1800s and also to hold prisoners during the Vietnam War, the islanders have since transformed the barbaric “tiger cages” into a museum that’s open to the public. Aside from it’s grizzly past, the remote island boasts stunning beaches bursting with marine life and a mountainous jungle terrain that’s perfect for trekking.

Fly to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to a Vietnam Air Service Co domestic flight to Con Dao airport.
