Expect delicious food at affordable prices at up-and-coming Porta, a modern European restaurant and gourmet grocery located in the buzzing Clarke Quay area. This newly opened space exudes colonial chic with its mosaic floorings, wooden cabinets and tables, as well as retro cane chairs.

Comfort Food

This is comfort food at its finest; fresh, premium ingredients paired with seasonal flavours and a dash of decadence. Helming the kitchen is Executive Chef Michael Suyanto, trained in classical French cuisine and with 12 years of culinary experience under his belt. On the menu, is a selection of delectable appetisers perfect for sharing, including the Spanish octopus with patatas bravas ($18) and foie gras with toasted brioche and onion marmalade ($24).

Iberian Pork Secreto

Porta’s hearty signature mains include the Iberian pork Secreto ($26), made with a high-marbled piece of Iberian pork shoulder blade roasted to perfection, then glazed with pommery honey mustard. Vegetarians won’t go hungry with the Ravioles de Royans ($22), a meat-free dish made of mini cheese ravioli, tangy Provençal vegetables, tomato coulis and pesto. For desserts, the Valrhona chocolate fondant ($14) is a slam dunk for chocoholics.

Gourmet Grocery

With many of the ingredients available for sale at the gourmet retail store, you can attempt to recreate your favourite dishes right at home! Shop from a select variety of imported meats, exquisite oils and dried goods, from the Fireman Pommery Mustard and Iberian pork shoulders used in the restaurant’s Iberian pork Secreto, to the smoked paprika powder used in the Spanish octopus dish.

Whether you’re hosting a special occasion meal or a casual catch-up with friends, the various seating styles offered at the restaurant are dressed to impress with a colonial charm. Dine in The Art Study, a formal private dining room adorned with old school maps and ornaments, perfect for small and intimate gatherings of no more than 16 people. For a more relaxed setting, the expansive alfresco area is great for people-watching, too.
