Ongoing from now till 21 May, the annual Voilah! French Food Festival celebrates the gastronomy of France. Look forward to Sweets Week from 25 to 30 April, and Wine Weeks from 2 to 14 May, where there’ll be special menus and promotions from participating outlets, including Antoinette, Tiong Bahru Bakery and Wine Connection.

#3 Refreshed brunch menu at Cafe Melba

This family-friendly 120-seater has refreshed its all-day brunch menu, with new additions like the smoked bacon burger ($24) and spinach and ricotta tortellini ($23). Fans can still enjoy old favourites like the caraway marbled rye bread and avocado ($18), a scrumptious combination of poached eggs, tomatoes, fresh avo slices and, the star of the show, house-made rye toast. #4 Ding Dong adds 14 new dishes

Modern Southeast Asian restaurant Ding Dong has launched 14 new creations, with highlights like crispy pork trotter with spiced vinegar ($29), grill pork spare ribs with peanut sauce ($17) and coconut snow, pandan jelly and gula melaka ice cream ($11).

#5 Healthier brunch at Crackerjack

All-day dining and drinking spot Crackerjack has updated its brunch menu with new dishes, including a lighter version of the classic fried chicken and potato hash –quinoa fried chicken ($18) with spicy banana ketchup and jicama slaw, and sweet potato hash ($14), which comes with breakfast sausage and baked egg.

Located just around the corner from Wolf Burger’s new outlet is O Mamma Mia Sapore Italiano, a pizza chain from Spain. Everything here is sold by the slice, with flavours like prosciutto ($3.90) and Bufala D.O.C. ($4.90), which features buffalo mozzarella, basil and tomato. Launched by the people who brought in Llao Llao, the dining concept has three outlets: Causeway Point, The Clementi Mall and, its latest branch, Changi City Point.

#8 Snack smart with healthier chips

Love snacking but hate the guilt that follows? Now Mission Foods has launched two new grain-based chips that are both lighter and healthier. Both the Multigrain and the Corn & Rice (gluten-free) flavours include healthy grains for added fibre, and they contain 30 percent less oil than regular potato chips. Available at all leading supermarkets including Cold Storage.
