We bring you the exclusive scoop on what’s hot and buzzing in the Expat Living beauty department every month, so you won’t be left behind. From the latest skincare launches, to the newest makeup trends, here are our favourite new beauty products to check out in January!
La Prairie’s latest night serum
On top of our lust list is La Prairie’s new Platinum Rare Cellular Night Elixir ($1,890), a luxurious serum with the brand’s exclusive Cellular Complex to ensure essential nutrition to the skin, combined with the Advanced Platinum Complex, a unique blend that promotes cell regeneration. The elixir promises reduced wrinkles and fine lines, as well as improved skin texture and firmness. Apply in the evening after cleansing and toning; simply dispense one drop into the palm of your hand and use fingertips to smooth gently over the entire face.
Sea-themed makeup and skincare
Tarte Cosmetics’ highly raved-about Rainforest of the Sea series is now available online and in all Sephora stores islandwide. Inspired by the ocean, the collection features makeup and skincare products infused with skin-loving ingredients like marine algae and flower extracts. We’ve got our eye on the hydrating, water-based foundation ($64) that offers a sheer-to-medium buildable coverage and 12-hour wear time. What’s more, it’s available in 21 shades!
New launches from The Body Shop
The Body Shop has released two new beauty products to its Drops of Youth range – the Youth Bouncy Eye Mask ($39.90) and the Gentle Foaming Wash ($26.90). The collection is infused with three powerful plant stem cells – edelweiss from the Italian Alps, and criste marine and sea holly from the Brittany Coast – which are known for their protective, youth-enhancing properties.
Get clearer skin with this Korean line
We’re always very excited to see new beauty products from Korea! For simple, lightweight skincare that doesn’t break the bank, try the new Back to True Nature (BTTN) water-based herbal skincare line by Korean cosmetics brand AprilSkin. We can’t wait to get our hands on the Pink Natural Toner ($32), a quickly absorbed formula that contains French oregano to control sebum, tighten pores and soothe the skin. Available at Guardian stores.
Mousse and whip cleansers, anyone?
Looking for a facial cleanser that gets rid of daily grime without drying out the skin? Try Nivea’s new mousse and whip cleansers (from $7.90), targeted at oily, dull and dry skin. The range is formulated with skin-loving ingredients like licorice to brighten and moisturise, as well as hyaluronic acid and Hydra IQ – a patented Nivea ingredient – for extra hydration.
