Where to shop for natural wooden furniture

4th July 2017 by Lindsay Yap 1 Min Read

With all the manmade materials on the market, sometimes it’s nice to get back to nature and revel in the qualities of natural wooden furniture. EDD+ specialises in using solid wood and other natural materials to create striking pieces for the home. We take a closer look at some of them.

Though EDD+ sells furniture for almost every practicality – think dining and coffee tables, chairs, storage and soft furnishings – they certainly don’t stick to one single style. Cast your eyes over their products and you’ll find huge suar-wood dining tables, striking tree-root coffee tables topped with glass, and plenty of fun home décor pieces.

“Each piece is painstakingly handcrafted and can be customised according to preference,” explains assistant director Nadya Masli. “We’re passionate about bringing our customers statement pieces that go beyond functionality, and that also infuse the beauty of natural materials with modern techniques.”

Suar wood is one material that is prevalent at EDD+, and Nadya points to its character and versatility as key attractions. “It displays beautiful wood- grain textures and curves, giving it versatility in terms of using it for surface or display.” Then there are reclaimed teak products, which combine the exoticism of the material with an eco-friendly appeal.

Conversation Pieces

Apart from suar wood and reclaimed teak, EDD+ features a variety of furniture crafted from pine, reclaimed railway- track wood and rosewood. Look out too for quirky statement pieces, such as its British-themed range of furniture, which includes an eye-catching Union Jack sofa, and even a red phone box.

“Everything we carry has its own appeal, be it form, function, material or texture. We know that people nowadays like to have unique products that create conversation pieces in their homes,” says Nadya.
