The benefits of drinking mineral water!

16th March 2022 by Rebecca Bisset 4 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/natural-spring-water-dispenser-mineral-water/

I have used Natural Springs Australia for ages, and for a lot of reasons, but initially because the piping in my house is really old. The water tastes awful and I’m sure it’s full of old metals. Natural Spring water, on the other hand, is full of the minerals our body needs to function. It’s always been fairly easy to order, too, but now they have a really cool booking system, and you can also schedule the date and a time slot for delivery – and it tastes great!

My father never drank water – he said it made him gag! There are lots of excuses around why we don’t drink water, or enough of it, but for me it comes down to taste, what’s in it and what’s not in it, and how easy it is to access. Having a water dispenser at home, with hot and cold water means I have no excuses!

Benefits of drinking spring water beyond hydration

My poor dad might have been a lot healthier if he had followed the guidelines of drinking water. It takes eight to 10 cups a day to keep your systems in good order, especially if you’re living somewhere as hot and humid as Singapore. According to the folks at Natural Springs Australia, water also increases the body’s resistance to stress, as it thins the blood, fights fatigue and supports the immune and cardiovascular systems. As the primary substance your body needs for flushing out toxins, water is vital to the body’s metabolism and digestion. A sufficient intake is linked to our skin staying soft and supple too.

Dehydration can also cause you to feel lethargic and tired. Studies have shown that even mild dehydration can impair brain function, limit memory and increase fatigue. I always get headaches when I don’t drink enough water.

Why natural mineral water is best

Minerals are what our body is made up of, so drinking water with natural minerals in it is a huge step in helping the body maintain itself.

Drawn directly from the source – Victoria’s Black Hill Mountains in Australia – Natural Springs water is naturally filtered with all natural minerals and electrolytes intact. It has a pH of 8.1 and undergoes no chemical treatment. In short, this water is as pure as it gets – additive-free and free of contamination – as it’s transferred straight from the springs into export containers.

7 helpful minerals in the spring water

Here’s a look at some of the minerals found in Natural Springs water and how they can help your body.

#1 Sodium: Helps conduct nerve impulses, contract and relax muscles, and maintain your body’s proper balance of water and other minerals.

#2 Magnesium: Supports muscle and nerve function, and energy production, it also helps reduce the risk of blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and osteoporosis.

#3 Calcium: Your heart, muscles, bones and nerves all need calcium. Some studies suggest that it may also help protect your body against cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure.

#4 Potassium: Functions as an electrolyte in the body and helps regulate fluid balance, muscle contractions and nerve signals. It can also reduce blood pressure and water retention, and protect against strokes, osteoporosis and kidney stones.

#5 Sulphate: This is the fourth most abundant anion (negatively charged ion) in our blood; it prevents blood from coagulating, helps to maintain optimal neurological health and improves the taste of water.

#6 Chloride: Chloride (not chlorine) is one of the most important electrolytes in the blood. It helps keep the amount of fluid inside and outside of your cells in balance. It also helps maintain proper blood volume, blood pressure and the pH of your body fluids.

#7 Bicarbonate: Bicarbonates help your body to prevent type 2 diabetes through the improvement of the metabolism and gut microbiota composition.

Easy to order and sustainable

Ordering water from Natural Springs Australia is more convenient now thanks to the new booking system, as you get a choice of delivery window. Also at the check-out is an estimated time of delivery, which is sent to your mobile to allow you to plan receipt. It gives you direct communication with the drivers in case there’s any change to your plans or home time.

The new system helps with customer service but also greatly reduces the impact on the environment by doing away with paper invoices. The water quality complies with both Australian standards and international code (ISO9002). It’s bottled in Singapore, and the sustainability aspects are transparent, with more details on the website.

At $19 a recyclable bottle, I think it’s well worth it! The water dispenser has both cold and hot, and last for years..

Special offer: Mention “EL3” during checkout to receive three free bottles when signing up as a new customer and ordering a water dispenser at the same time!
