Need a little distraction at work? Always. Planet Earth streams live with high definition cameras from an international space station to capture amazing views from space. Take a gander at the images from HD cameras mounted atop the European Space Agency’s Columbus module, activated just a month ago. Video from the High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment cameras is transmitted back to earth and streamed live on the International Space Station HD Earth Viewing Experiment Channel. You even have the ability to track where the ISS (international space station) is at any moment you wish. ‘Goodnight, Moon’ just got way more awesome.
More from the official site: Analysis of this experiment will be conducted to assess the effects of the space environment on the equipment and video quality which may help decisions about cameras for future missions. High school students helped with the design of some of the HDEV components through the High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware (HUNCH) program. Student teams will also help operate the experiment.
