If you are moving to Singapore, you’ll need to find a good moving company – even if you only have a few bits and pieces. If you’re leaving Singapore or moving to a different house, we’re pretty confident you’ll have a lot more to move! Reader recommendations are always good, so we find out why these expats chose their relocation companies, and how they rate their services.
Harriet Jenkins, British
“I was moving from River Valley as I wanted a slower pace of life, more of a community feel and to be nearer to my friends who have mostly settled into the Holland Village area. I also wanted a garden!
My flatmate and I had an unusual situation. We were both moving from the condo we shared to separate houses on the same street in Chip Bee Gardens. We needed AE Logistics to pack our belongings and deliver to two separate locations. The team managed the logistics perfectly and without any damage – they even easily accommodated slight changes on the day due to unforeseen circumstances.
We used AE after a recommendation from a friend. They were her ‘go-to’ removalists based upon service level and price. I couldn’t agree more – they were fantastic!
We found the team charming, helpful and communicative; they treated everyone and everything with respect. Working with them made what could have been a very stressful experience, into one that ran smoothly and without a hitch. I can’t thank Haron and his team enough and would absolutely use them again in the future.”

“When we decided to buy a property rather than continuing to rent, we turned to SIR Move to help. We moved from a rented condo on Anson Road to a five-room HDB at Toa Payoh.
SIR Move was the appointed local removal company when I moved to Singapore from Portugal in 2003. I found them very professional and exceedingly helpful then. I have moved five times since within Singapore and also to Thailand and back. Each time, SIR Move has given me exceptional service and I don’t even get quotes from other companies now.
I’ve always found both the office staff and the packers to be very polite and helpful, and we will of course be using them if we move again. Highly recommended by us!”
Eliza Kerwin and Andrew Schreiber, Australian
“We relocated to Singapore for Andrew’s work. It’s our first time living overseas – such an adventure and totally taking us out of our comfort zone.
We only had a small window to get our belongings onto the next boat to Singapore (the time from booking to everything being collected was less than a week). We also had some large, fragile paintings to move.
We chose Allied Pickfords as they were able to assist with the short lead-time and offered competitive pricing. We’d also received word-of-mouth advice from previous local house moves by family and other expats.
We moved from a four-bedroom house in the Melbourne suburb of Mornington. When the team of two came, they packed the goods straight into a container in our driveway in just 90 minutes. They were very friendly and asked a lot of questions about what items to move and how we’d like them packed, including if extra care was required.
When we arrived in Singapore, we moved into a medium-sized, two-bedroom, high-floor apartment in Queenstown. Even the unpacking was very fast – in and out in 90 minutes again (including delivery and unboxing). There was no damage to any items or the apartment. They even took away all the packaging material, which was one of the best things in terms of our stress reduction!
At this stage, we’re unsure how long we’ll stay in Singapore, but we would definitely use Allied again.”
