Try this cult brand for dry skin lotion and body wash!

2nd September 2022 by Anna Murphy 2 Min Read

Few body lotions for dry skin have stood the test of time like the E45 moisturiser. Many body creams promise hydration and healing but E45 is common sense, uncomplicated skincare that delivers. Apparently, it can even fix cracked heels!

Formulated in 1952, the brand earned its stripes in hospitals where it was so successful in treating skin disorders that it was launched into retail – and soon to cult status as a “straight up” daily body lotion that does what you expect it to. It’s effective on chapped skin, rashes, itchy skin and sunburn, the bane of many lives in the tropics! For over 60 years, E45 has focused on what the skin needs.

The moisturiser for dry skin is un-perfumed and made with two active ingredients: paraffin and lanolin. These ingredients protect the skin and keep it pliant to withstand daily damage from the sun and toxins. The paraffin in E45 creates a breathable, hypoallergenic layer over the skin while the lanolin heals and softens the top layers.

Regular soap, shower cream, bubble baths and household cleaning products can all cause skin irritation. Dry skin is also often because of dehydration, especially as we age and skin starts to lose its ability to hold moisture. You’ll know when you start to see fine lines and deteriorating skin texture.

How to apply E45

It’s best to apply the body lotion immediately after a shower to lock in moisture while the skin is still damp and the pores open. This one-tub wonder does it all so there’s no need for multiple creams for different skin conditions under one roof. And because it works, you can stop adding endless clutter to your bathroom.

Often, we stop using a product when we start seeing good results. Yet nice, soft skin is thanks to the effects of the body lotion, so do use it daily. This not only continues to protect the skin against pollutants in the environment but also improves its texture and keeps it hydrated.

The verdict

Users of E45 body lotion like that it absorbs easily and doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy. Those with cracked heels have found that the cream heals the injuries and prevents further damage, and women have also reported treating cellulite and post-operative scars with this moisturiser. Many also like the fact that this body lotion for dry skin is unscented – and that it offers value for money. Some have even used E45 for decades, for as long as it’s been on the market.

This daily moisturiser can be used all over the body, and even as a facial cleanser. E45 also carries a shower cream, which those with sensitive or ageing skin may find gentler than a regular body wash. For hard-to-reach areas, the E45 lotion is more emollient and easier to apply. E45 is also available in a purse-friendly tube for reapplying after washing your hands or using harsh alcohol-based sanitisers.
