Massage review: Spa Botanica, Singapore - these people have magic hands

This may be your most memorable two hours of the year. Unwind as the magic hands of the therapists at Spa Botanica strip back stress and worries with the sublime herbal compress massage. This new treatment combines the popular east-west blend massage with the soothing feeling of a warm, herbal blend wrapped in a muslin cloth and stroked gently on the skin. It’s sensory heaven.

Kaffir lime leaves, Javanese grapefruit, and other herbs and essential oils, are blended and compressed into a ball, wrapped with muslin cloth and steamed gently to release a heavenly aroma. The heat of the compress is tailored to your personal tolerance level, but it deepens the effect of the massage.

The east-west blend massage targets different pressure points, which the therapist deftly finds in each person and sets about competently easing knots and increasing circulation.

Get into the mood before the massage, or hang around afterwards and enjoy the lush botanical garden and facilities. The two-hour herbal compress massage ($280++) includes use of swimming pools, float pools, mud pools, teahouse, meditative labyrinth, hot and cold pools and steam room.

Or, come for the day and relax with girlfriends and use all the facilities for $50 ++.

Open daily 10am to 6.30pm
