If you’re looking for British specialties like crumpets, crisps and particularly tasty Red Leicesters, few department stores deliver quite like Marks & Spencer. Fans of the iconic British brand will want to check out their revamped Wheelock Place outlet. The refreshed Marks & Spencer food hall is Singapore’s biggest, and will feature over 3,800 premium food products as well as more than a thousand new chilled food items and fresh produce.
A little further down Orchard Road, Marks & Spencer has also opened up a six-month pop-up store at 313@somerset that spans two levels. The store at VivoCity will also enjoy a stylish new redesign.
To celebrate these new openings and Singapore’s 56th birthday, shoppers who spend over $100 at the Wheelock Place or VivoCity outlets will receive an exclusive ‘M&S Loves Singapore’ tote bag. The bags are specially designed by Tiffany Lovage, a local artist known for her mixed media art.
If you’re eager to check out the new store at Wheelock Place, here’s what you can look forward to.
A premium cheese selection, British comfort food and ready-to-eat meals
If you’re particular about your cheeses, you’ll absolutely love the Marks & Spencer food hall’s wide variety of cheese. An all-new ‘cheese barge’ will highlight an impressive selection of cheeses, handpicked from Europe’s finest cheesemakers. These new additions will join the store’s current range of classic English cheese varieties. You’ll also find an even wider variety of fresh produce.
The chilled prepared meals are another one of the store’s popular food options. In addition to British classics like fish and chips, you’ll find ready-to-heat meals inspired by Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisines. If you’re after a quick grab-and-go meal, there’s also a ready-to-eat section with fresh sandwiches, salads and fruit bowls.
Of course, where Marks & Spencer’s food section really shines is its selection of hard-to-find British favourites. Scottish smoked salmon, Aberdeen Angus steak, shortbread, scones and crumpets are just some of the many classic comfort foods you’ll find here.
An all-new Marks & Spencer homeware section
At the revamped Wheelock Place outlet, you’ll also find an expanded homeware range. Plan that dream bedroom makeover with their range of vibrant bedspreads or keep it classic with muted neutral tones. There’s also a new range of home fragrances that include scented candles and reed diffusers. Your dining room isn’t left out either. Take your dinner parties up a notch with classic porcelain kitchenware and add a little whimsy with chic patterned crockery.
