Love handles, back fat, flabby arms – stubborn fat pockets can accumulate over the years. Plugging away at the gym and watching your diet do help, but problem areas need extra love and attention. This can come in the form of LipoMassage by Endermologie (LPG). It’s a non-invasive slimming treatment that promises to precisely target flab and treat cellulite, while toning and tightening loose skin. EL’s Danielle Rossetti took one for the team to test drive a session at beauty salon Aura & Miracles – read on for her verdict!
LPG slimming treatment review
A changing metabolism in my 40s means that I am storing more flab around my stomach, love handles, bottom and upper thighs. While I am quite active, it’s hard to target these areas specifically. Even when I lose weight in my tummy area, the leftover “crepe-like” skin creates a not-so-attractive “muffin top” of skin hanging over the waist of my trousers.
After chatting with Sherry from Aura and Miracles, I also realised I had back flab around my bra line, which I had not even noticed, and the tops of my knees were losing ground to gravity as well. I’d thought the omnipresent cellulite was a problem with no solution, but she promised that I would see results after just one session of the LPG LipoMassage.
Clad in a full body stocking, I lay on a massage table while my therapist used what felt like a soft vacuum cleaner nozzle to massage up and down my body first to stimulate lymphatic drainage, then to tone and shape. It really does have a “Roll’in, Roll’up, Roll’out” process, where the fat is sucked in, stimulated then released. There were some points, especially around my lymph nodes, which I think were very blocked, and along my tight shoulder muscles, where I felt some mild discomfort, but overall the sensation was very relaxing. It’s almost like a very firm massage – which you know is doing you good.
Looking at the mirror, I’m amazed that I can really see a difference in the shape and tone of my upper inner thighs, lower tummy and saddlebags. My “bingo wings” (saggy upper arms) are also firmer to the touch, and I think the treatment had an exfoliating effect as well.
Apparently, one session is equivalent to the muscle stimulation from 10 hours of exercise. This means that even after the 35-minute treatment, the micro-circulation will continue to burn fats for the next 10 hours. This treatment has also been scientifically proven to efficiently increase lipolysis (the breakdown of fats) by up to 70 percent. After each session, you’ll need to drink at least two litres of water everyday to aid in the slimming and detox process.
Sherry says a lot of clients visit weekly, often before a big event to get that “Spanx” effect. After six sessions, there should be a noticeable change in fatty deposits, cellulite and skin firmness. I’m impressed after just one session, and next time think I could even squeeze in a nap.
One LPG slimming treatment costs $280, but if you get a package, it’s $2500 for 12 sessions. Contact Aura & Miracles directly for a special promotion!
