Les Misérables in Singapore: Reader review!

‘Les Mis’ as it’s commonly known among die-hard fans, is in Singapore for only a few more weeks at The Esplanade. ‘Can you hear the people sing’, ‘On my Own’ and the unforgettably catchy, ‘ Master of the House’, play for just two more weeks, so book now! We hear from hardcore ‘Les Mis’ fan and avid EL Reader, Daryl Patrick, about what he thought when he went along last week!

‘Les Misérables is my favourite musical – I’ve watched it five times, including the movie version. The production that is currently showing at the Esplanade Theatre is definitely the best of all of them, and I enjoyed it more than ever before. They’ve combined new technology with the original production qualities to make it even better and more captivating.

Most of the actors are part of the show’s 30th anniversary tour, so they are obviously the crème de la crème. It’s a very talented cast – the best I’ve seen. We were in the prime spot, front and centre at the Esplanade, and the set was fantastic; so impressive, with the special effects to create the tunnel and water effects making it all seem more real. The orchestra was also outstanding.

Everything about the production is first class, and I highly recommend that you book as soon as possible!’ – Daryl Patrick

Les Misérables is showing at the Esplanade Theatre until 24 July. Tickets cost from $58 to $228 and are available at sistic.com.sg.
