iSwitch reviews: Savings & green energy

13th February 2020 by Lindsay Yap 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/iswitch-customer-reviews-electricity-retailers-singapore-reduce-bills/

Over a year has passed since the launch of the open electricity market in Singapore. You would have heard about the advantages of switching electricity retailers, which can include savings on electricity bills, flexible price plans and even the ability to use green energy. If you’re still not convinced, hear from these happy customers at iSwitch who can vouch for the benefits.

Saving on bills

When you switch electricity retailers to iSwitch, you can opt for either a fixed tariff rate or a discounted regulated tariff plan. Both plans are said to help households save up to 30% off their electricity bill. As of January 2020, the company says it has helped its customers save a total of over $20 million on bills.

iSwitch Shirlene Lim

“I wasn’t initially aware I could switch from Singapore Power to another electricity retailer until my daughter told me! She told me it was easy and I can save about 30% off my bill every month. I chose iSwitch because she told me that they had the lowest rate – she did the comparison for me. After I switched, I really noticed a difference. From January 2019 until now, one year later, I’ve saved $460.”

– Shirlene Lim

Caring for the environment

The company also offers green-certified electricity at no additional cost to all customers who sign up for a plan on their website. iSwitch is currently the largest green retailer, with more than 18,000 green customers in Singapore. In 2019, they retired more than 80,000 tonnes of carbon.

iSwitch Jo Brown

“I came across iSwitch on Facebook and saw that they offered green electricity. While their pricing options were comparable to other retailers, I chose them due to their sustainability goals as I believe in a cleaner future. I recommend them not just for savings, but as an ethically green business. We need more energy companies like them.”

– Jo Brown

Eco-friendly practices extend to iSwitch employees, who are encouraged to reuse, recycle and maintain sustainable practices in the office. As much as possible, paper and other day-to-day items are recycled, and staff don’t use plastic water bottles, cutlery or straws. They’re also given a “green” pack that consists of a thermal stainless steel water bottle, straw, brush and personalised coffee mug.

Benefiting from flexible contracts

iSwitch has a range of price plans for 12, 24, and 36 months. But if you’re moving houses or relocating, you can provide valid documents to cancel your contract and pay a small flat relocation fee, instead of the early termination charges. Also, if you sign up with iSwitch for your new home, the fee will be refunded once your new contract is active. There are no extra installation fees or any other types of fees involved.

iSwitch Liang Xiao Xuan

“Reliability is very important to me, and iSwitch delivers on that too. When I needed to move apartments in the middle of the year, as promised, the relocation fee was quickly refunded to me after I moved to my new address!”

– Liang Xiao Xuan

Enjoying great customer service

iSwitch has in-house and locally-based customer service personnel that can be easily reached via phone, email and even Facebook messenger during working hours. The local team of trained and knowledgable officers serves 100,000 households and 3,000 businesses.

iSwitch Welly and Crayson

“I’ve communicated with iSwitch’s customer service via email. They’re very friendly and always give good advice. I like the service!”

– Welly and Crayson
