We’ve gleaned some tips from our readers on choosing the right office furniture.

“After we moved to Singapore from the US, we heard about Gallery 278 through word of mouth – it was a very easy decision to shop with them, because several of my friends had raved about them! The experience was great, with high-quality products, friendly and professional staff, and prompt follow-ups. We got an entire condo setup with furniture, including artwork and pieces for the office. We think it looks fabulous – we absolutely love it and will definitely purchase from the store again. Our tip is to be open-minded, and to allow Gallery 278 to do the work for you. It’s amazing how much they know and remember about your preferences and past choices. They are really great people who have a relentless desire to ensure everything fits together as best as possible.”

“After moving to Singapore, we needed to furnish our apartment. We wanted pieces that were modular, in case we had to move; and well made, with a preference for raw timber that would be suitable for the Singapore climate. A friend raved about Ethnicraft Online’s company philosophy, prices, service and quality, and we soon came to the same view! Almost everything in our condo was purchased from them – the couch, armchair, ottoman, coffee table, entertainment unit, bookcases, sideboards, dining room table and benches, side table, dresser, bedside tables, office desks and a desk drawer. The pieces all fit well with our apartment, which is very minimalistic. We’ve had many compliments, and we’ve already shown quite a few people Ethnicraft’s catalogue. We’re now thinking of purchasing another desk lamp from the Universo Positivo range. One tip we would like to pass on is to measure everything! We used spare packing paper and laid it out on the floor to estimate the size of each of the pieces we were planning on purchasing. You should even measure the lift to ensure your goods fit. Plan for the long term if you’re renting, because all apartments are different. We also did a lot of research on furniture and design before we decided on Ethnicraft. To avoid hiccups, we checked the allocated delivery hours for Saturday and that the condo management had plenty of notice before delivery. A lot of this is probably basic knowledge for Singaporeans, but not something the average Australian would be aware of!”
