Here at EL, we’re always on a quest to discover the latest slimming treatments in the market. When we first heard about HYPOXI®, a technology that combines science and fitness, and promises to remove stubborn fat pockets in specific problem areas, we knew we had to try it out. That’s why we sent a staffer to test drive this fat-burning treatment. Is it all it claims to be? Read on for her verdict!
How does it work?
Using an advanced vacuum and compression technology, coupled with healthy nutrition and fitness, the HYPOXI® method activates your body’s natural system to burn specific areas of fat and cellulite. Studies have shown that it can be up to three times more effective at targeted fat burning than regular exercise – it’s little wonder why celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Robbie Williams love it!
This technology is not only backed by science, but born by passion and observation from an Austrian sports scientist, Dr. Norbert Egger. He noticed that many men and women were unable to address their stubborn areas through healthy eating and regular workout sessions. As a sports scientist, he knew that fat is burned primarily in areas where the body tissue is best supplied with blood and, above all, by movement. Thus, together with a team of scientists and mechanical engineers, HYPOXI® was born.
Our review
Danielle Rossetti, Integrated Communications Manager
I’ve always hoped there was an easier way to tone and burn more fat in targeted areas. Plugging away at the gym, I can always get toned arms and calves in a few sessions, but nothing seems to be able to move the fat on my bottom, thighs and – now that I’m in my 40s – stomach!
I met with HYPOXI® coach, Sha, and the team at HYPOXI®, which is in the BreadTalk IHQ. She explained that this is a highly personalised programme that combines nutritional guidance with moderate workouts on the patented HYPOXI® machines.
Everything is monitored right from your initial 3D full-body scan to your heart rate while exercising. You can compare measurements throughout the programme, which is incredibly motivating. I was recommended to try out their combo training, that targets cellulite and fat loss in a 50 minutes session. First I spent 20 relaxing minutes in the HDC Dermology machine, which helps with lymphatic drainage, cellulite and blood circulation. You’re essentially priming your system for the exercise ahead! The second stage involves 30 minutes of working out on one of the machines – the pace of which depends upon your age, body shape, vein and skin condition, metabolic rate and fitness level. On the L250 machine, I was laying down with my feet elevated and biking moderately. The alternating pressures improves blood circulation from below the chest to your lower limbs and targets specific spots to burn more fat.
The recommendation is to go two to three times a week to see results, and each package is generally 12 sessions. There are various price packages available. Call them to find out more!
