Don’t worry, be happy – but how?

7th January 2021 by Expat Living 4 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/how-to-be-happy-and-maintain-happiness-healing-technique-singapore/

Can 2021 be a happy year for you after the challenges of 2020? According to PANKAJ GUPTA, the secret to stable happiness may just be hiding in plain sight.

It’s said that true happiness is found within, so why is it so elusive? For eons, gurus and shrinks have tried to enlighten us on happiness, so why is human history one of a worsening pandemic of unhappiness, evidenced by increasing violence, depression, uncontrolled stress and chronic fatigue?

how to be happy and maintain happiness

Only happiness matters

2020 hammered in the fundamental necessity of good mental health. Understanding mental health requires understanding happiness, because you do absolutely everything for one reason only – to make yourself feel better (happier). If our jobs make us unhappy, we keep doing them because not doing them will make us feel worse. What we eat, wear, say or don’t say are all ultimately determined by our desire for happiness. We even harm ourselves in our quest for happiness, by over-eating, smoking and so on. We exacerbate our unhappiness by blaming others for it. Can an unhappy person make you happy?

Do you want an unhappy relationship or a happy one? Do you want more success that increases your stress, or more happiness? The only thing we ever want is happiness! Everything else is only a means to it. Our lives are a relentless, endless search for happiness and our desire to feel good has complete control over us.

If success, adulation and fame brought us lasting happiness then wealthy celebrities wouldn’t have substance abuse issues and certainly wouldn’t kill themselves. Wealth, a lover, family, success – all these only bring temporary happiness. What we’re really looking for is  effortless, permanent happiness  –  we don’t want to keep trying to make ourselves happy every day. You want to go to bed happy, wake up happy and be naturally happy every day, like you were at age three!

First understand happiness

It’s important  and  healthy  to be happy; we’re always  looking for lasting, natural happiness,  not momentary happiness; and this lasting, unconditional happiness can’t be found in relationships or achievements for they are conditions! The compelling reason why everyone is always seeking happiness is because it’s our true nature – we are happiness! Aren’t we all born happy? Ever heard of a depressed new-born?

We are naturally happy beings who are  disconnected  from our natural happiness – that’s why we seek happiness in everything. Until we reconnect with our real, inner happiness, we will continue living with lasting unhappiness. This is why lasting happiness cannot come from anything or anyone outside of ourselves.

how to be happy and maintain happiness

Reconnecting with happiness

We can rediscover our natural, permanent happiness by realising it is an emotion, like excitement, hope or fear. In the October 2020 issue, I shared that 98 percent of mental health issues are actually emotional issues, and we are emotionally-driven beings. Now you know which emotion drives you perpetually. Your innate happiness is ‘hidden’ under layers of unhappy, repressed emotions.

What were you told as a young child when you cried unhappily? Stop crying. You did, by suppressing your pain. Suppressing painful emotions became your nature, trapping you in a lifetime of feeling pain – pain you try to avoid by seeking happiness constantly. The painful emotions you have suppressed until now are burying your happiness. This is why your default feeling is unhappy – stressed, sad or lonely. Feeling unhappy is normal for humans. Emotional suffering is normal because we accepted it when we were very little, but it’s devastating in the long run.

End of suffering

Painful emotions like insecurity, guilt and rejection create our inner suffering. We can either suffer or be happy. You cannot be happy when you are suffering, which is why you haven’t found lasting happiness. Ending your suffering leaves you naturally happy, and you can finally stop seeking peace and happiness, and start living happily.

The only way to get off the hamster’s wheel and become happy is to heal/release your emotional baggage. You cannot be naturally, permanently happy until you release it. The more you heal yourself the happier you become, regardless of what happens in your life. Your emotional pain can be healed just as easily as your knee pain, without medicines. After healing a past trauma, for example, when you recall the traumatic incident you will find that the memory is neutral – you feel no pain any more. This memory fades and you are left with lasting feelings of peace, wellbeing and increased energy. The greater your inner peace, the happier you will be.

To be permanently happy, you must prevent, not suppress, pain. Yes, pain can be prevented for it starts in your mind, not in others’ actions. You can live with a healthy mindset that doesn’t create pain. This can be done easily, quickly and painlessly with The Pankaj Method® (TPM), an internationally known system of scientific energy healing that heals emotional, mental and physical pain, and offers long-lasting relief. It is safe and uses no medicines. You can spend the rest of your life unhappily seeking happiness, or you can use TPM to free yourself from emotional pain and become naturally happy. You can make 2021 your happiest year in a long time. You deserve it after all you’ve gone through in 2020.

Singapore-based Pankaj Gupta is the founder of TPM and has endorsements from doctors in the US and India. TPM is used in over 40 countries. Watch TPM’s clients’ success stories at bit.ly/YTTPM.

The hype around kombucha is fairly recent, but did you know that this fizzy, fermented tea-based drink has ancient origins?

First brewed in northeast China over 2,000 years ago, kombucha is said to impart a range of health benefits, from strengthening immunity to improving gut health.

Sasha’s Farms is a non-profit social enterprise that supports and promotes small and independent businesses like Kore Culture Labs, a fermenting café in Bali producing healthy kombuchas and sodas.

As a new(ish) kid on the block, Razum International School offers something a little different as far as international primary schools in Singapore go.

Two expat mums, Elena and Marina, joined forces to create a primary school experience that focuses on a shorter day, strong academic curriculum and more affordable school fees in Singapore.

The shorter learning hours – from 8.45am to 1pm – means your child can spend the afternoon doing extra-curricular activities (ECAs). Kids can opt for activities they enjoy provided by external providers, or use the time to focus on their competitive sports or music classes or simply spend quality time with the family.

Find out more about this and other interesting aspects of Razum by clicking on our website via the link in our bio. You can even book a school tour!
