Horoscopes: January 2017: Your stars this month

Happy birthday to the Capricorns and Aquarians celebrating this month! Find out what the stars have in store for you with our January horoscopes.

What’s in the stars for you this month?

Sharan @ tarotbysharan.com

Capricorn | DEC 22 – JAN 19

The start of the new year doesn’t quite pan out the way Capricorn would like it to, unfortunately. Be prepared to experience heartbreak and deceit. It might come as a shock, or it may be something you’ve suspected for some time without being able to confirm your instincts. But it’s better for the truth to reveal itself sooner rather than later. The good thing is that you don’t seem to dwell on misfortune for too long – instead, you take it as a learning opportunity, and flip it to your benefit. Your acceptance that bad situations are part and parcel of life, and that they make you a stronger person, certainly lifts the black cloud.

Aquarius | JAN 20 – FEB 18

It’s going to be a fantastic month for Aquarius. There’s lots to celebrate as you overcome all odds and competition to manifest your goals and all your desires come to fruition. You have exercised your skills and drawn on your creativity to get where you want to be. Everything is at your disposal and laid out for you, and now it’s about making things happen. The key is to think widely and look far ahead; opportunities may exist right where you are physically, or they may lie overseas. It’s a great month for genuine progress, thanks to your solid planning and unflagging motivation.

Pisces | FEB 19 – MAR 20

A new chapter awaits you this January. It’s time to put an end to old and mouldy ideas, and to move forward with fresh, new ones. You may find yourself charging forward with your plans to see your goals through this month. However, do make sure that the goals you have set are realistic and achievable, or else they will forever remain dreams. So, stay focused, be practical, and always keep your feet firmly planted on the ground.

Aries | MAR 21 – APR 19

Certain events this month may not make much sense to the rational mind. Expect to experience loss or heartbreak from a relationship. A decision certainly needs to be made – and it’s an important one – about the best way to deal with this. While there is a reason for things to have happened the way they have, you can’t expect to completely understand it just now. Trust your intuition. Pay attention to your dreams as well; you may be given guidance and signals in unusual ways. Things will certainly reveal themselves in the months to come, so take it easy for now.

Leo | JUL 23 – AUG 22

You have come full circle this month, and are feeling a sense of achievement following all the effort you’ve put in. Or are you really? You may begin to ask yourself where you’re at in your life now, and begin to look at things from a different perspective. Perhaps you’ve simply done what others have done, and you realise this isn’t the accomplishment you were seeking. It’s decision time: will you be settle for what you’ve achieved, or will you choose to follow your true calling? Follow your heart if you want to attain true happiness.

Libra | SEP 23 – OCT 22

It’s going to be a month of self-evaluation, where you will be reviewing your past and coming to an understanding of why things have happened the way they have. The essence of this month is an awakening of a brand new understanding of past events, and hence the emergence of a new you. The focus seems to be on relationships and career. Old wounds have healed themselves, and you are ready to let go of everything that has upset you. But before you do, take on board the lessons that these experiences have brought you. You may find yourself seeking solitude this January while you retreat inwards; don’t fight this need.

Sagittarius | NOV 22 – DEC 21

Your hard work definitely paid off, and you’re being rewarded rather handsomely monetarily. You’ve accomplished the goals that you’ve laid out, and you’re feeling victorious. However, don’t let this go to your head. Being arrogant could cause you to lose it all in an instant. Keep focused and carry on doing things the way you’ve been doing them, as you seem to have a winning formula. Help those in needwhen you can. Fine-tune the art of giving and receiving, and you’ll be assured of a healthy inflow and outflow of finances. It might also be a good time to evaluate how you could reinvest your money; bricks and mortar may appeal this month.

Scorpio | OCT 23 – NOV 21

It’s a very exciting month, with your energies on a high. You’ll be in self-discover y mode, bursting with ideas and creativity while you figure out where you stand and what you believe in. This is the beginning of something really big. You’re at a crossroads, and choosing the right path to your destination is extremely important. A balance between mind and heart is needed to help you make this choice. Pay attention to your inner voice, make notes of your dreams and look out for signs from the people you meet and the places you’re drawn to. You’ll find guidance in all of these things, so stay alert!

Cancer | JUN 21 – JUL 22

This month, those born under the Cancer sign are advised to set aside their tendency to be too emotional, and to practise making unbiased and structured decisions. If you are to succeed in any form of partnership this month, be it a familial, romantic or business-related, the key is to use your head more than your heart. Take the example of successful relationships around you, and try to learn from them. It’s all about learning. All the best in your endeavours!

Virgo | AUG 23 – SEP 22

The theme of finances carries on into the first month of the year. You are being asked to practice detachment from your material wealth. A balance has to be struck between your financial inflow and outflow. The advice is to always trust your instincts; that way, you’ll be guided to the right choices and opportunities in matters of money. Really, the key is balance, so focus on not being too attached to what you already have, or you may lose sight of what you could possibly achieve.

Gemini | MAY 21 – JUN 20

It’s going to be a very focused month, and one filled with accomplishments. You aren’t sitting around and twiddling your thumbs; you’re fully on the go, working towards making your wishes and dreams come true. One of these dreams may be financial independence and stability, while achieving the perfect work-life balance. Amazingly, this is going to be one of those rare months where everything you touch turns to gold. Your structure and discipline are impeccable, and you may even become an inspiration for the spectators who have been observing you execute your plans flawlessly.

Taurus | APR 20 – MAY 20

To pursue your dreams and get to where you truly want to be involves lots of sacrifice and hard work. This month, you’ll find that staying on top of your game is not as easy as you thought it would be. It isn’t going to be a smooth road; there are plenty of bumps ahead, but you’ll need to take those challenges on, if only to show your commitment to your goal. If your goal is to become financially comfortable, while still being able to balance your time between family and work, you may not be quite there yet. But you’re certainly on the way – so don’t give up!
