Gift Shopping Ideas

“Shopping online for the home décor buff in your life is never an easy task,” says La Panache’s founder Reena Badani. “At La Panache we make products that are classic yet trendy, inspired by natural design and materials that are easy to use on a daily routine, and influenced by the culture we grew up in. Our aim is to make online gift shopping that bit easier.”

Bone Inlay

The bone-inlay collection, so indicative of Northern Rajasthan’s artisanal craftsmanship, includes this geometric pattern tray ($160), leaf pattern round tray ($140) available in a variety of colours, and Ikat pattern lamp ($290). For something a little bit special, there’s an optical illusion box pattern console table, priced at $1,200. Not keen on the colour? Speak to Reena and she can arrange a custom-made piece.

Marble

Sleek and smooth, the clean lines of the marble collection lend themselves to both traditional and contemporary home styles. Pieces include the lotus tea-light holder ($45), striking chevron tray ($80) and hexagonal coasters (set of 4 for $52).

Mango Wood

The rustic warmth of the mango-wood collection sits in harmonious style with Singapore homes. The nibble bowls make a pretty gift for friends who love entertaining; they come in a range of designs at $20 each. Mango-wood salad bowls come in floral, colourful or geometric patterns ($70, including salad servers), and then there’s the printed round trays that prove lastingly popular ($40).

Copper

The range of copper tumblers and jugs have a classic warmth to them, and the rich patterns in digitally printed enamel give the products even more depth. Choose from tumblers ($14) and jugs ($55) – or just get both! Did you know, too, that that copper is known to have anti-microbial, antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory properties? These help to improve digestive health and overall wellness. That’s why copper products make a great choice if you’re gift shopping for someone focusing on health and well-being.

Behind the Scenes

The store’s founder Reena Badani is a keen cultural admirer. The idea for La Panache stemmed from an inspirational trip to Rajasthan; the Northern Indian state is known for its history, rich culture and scenic locations. It was here that Reena fell in love with the art and craftsmanship of handmade and inlaid products in small artisans’ factories. “Some people feel that craftsmanship in India may be in decline, putting this down to the general apathy found in today’s society; but I’ve always admired India’s ocean of talent – there’s such a tremendous opportunity to scale,” adds Reena.

Her aim was simple: to bring together art and nature in its organic form by creating a line of affordable luxury homewares that have soul and longevity; and to ultimately make online gift shopping a joy, not a chore. “The emphasis is on exquisite craftsmanship and top-notch quality, while paying homage to the rich stories that exist behind every object.”

Reena’s curated products are available at the click of a button here.
