Global Wellness Day: 7 ways to stay stress-free

21st March 2018 by Anthia Chng 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/health-wellness-global-wellness-day-stress-management-things-to-do-singapore/

With Global Wellness Day coming up soon (10 June), it’s only appropriate that we let you in on some of our favourite ways to de-stress. From indulgent spas to top island breaks, isn’t in time you give yourself a well-deserved break?

#1 Head to destination detox

Feeling guilty from a few too many drinks of late, or some over-indulgence at the buffet line? A juice cleanse is great for giving your overall system a reboot, leaving you more clear-headed and less bloated after. If you’re looking for a more comprehensive detox experience, we recommend checking yourself into a wellness programme – read our account of a recent visit to picturesque COMO Shambhala Estate Bali.

#2 Get moving

Take part in a upcoming run, stretch out those limbs with a yoga class, or pick up a new sport like martial arts – the benefits of exercising are endless! Need some motivation? Kick start your regime by shopping for new sportswear.

#3 Get more sleep

One of the best feelings in the world, undoubtedly, is waking up in the morning fully rested. Whether you’re new in town and furniture shopping for the first time or you simply fancy a change, choosing a new bed frame is an important decision. In picking the perfect bed, there’s much that must be considered, from size and style, to sturdiness and storage.

#4 Travel with your buddies

The benefits of going for a holiday are undisputable, so treat yourself to a weekend getaway if you’re strapped for time, or escape the humid weather and head to somewhere a little further away.

#5 Enjoy good food

There are tons of fab restaurants, cafes and bars across the island. Not sure where to start? Check out our New Nibbles, a monthly column that gives you the inside scoop on what’s buzzing in the wine and dine scene. Or, if you prefer staying at home, we’ve got tons of easy recipes, too!

#6 Make time for a massage

We all deserve some me-time now and then, and while you can go all out with indulging in a luxurious spa treatment, it’s nice knowing we’re blessed with plenty of affordable options in the city, too.

#7 Go shopping

Retail therapy isn’t called therapy for nothing; it’s amazing how buying a cute dress can instantly lift the mood! From online shopping to chic beach and resort wear for your next beach break, we’ve got plenty of style inspiration on our site!
