We’ve read the books and we’ve seen the movies. Now Harry Potter fans can relive their favourite film moments and quite literally step into the magical world of flying cars and brooms with Harry Potter: The Exhibition. For the first time in Asia, fans will enjoy a firsthand look at the original costumes and artefacts that appeared in the film series.
Fans will be thrilled to know the iconic Harry Potter’s wand and glasses will also be on display. Also see the Golden Snitch, Hogwarts school uniforms and life size creatures including Buckbeak the Hippogriff and the giant Acromantula as seen in the films Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Visitors will be transported to some favourite film locations including the Gryffindor common room, Hogwarts classroom and the Forbidden Forest. Toss a Quaffle in the Quidditch area and tour some of the exhibition’s highly interactive experiences such as the hut of the lovable giant Hagrid.
Written by J.K. Rowling, the Harry Potter series has become a global phenomenon with 450 million copies of books sold worldwide. The first book, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone was released in 1997 for children. The publishers printed the hardback adult version when the series gained popularity amongst adults. The eight films were a huge success too, with the last film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 generating $1.33 billion in the worldwide box office – the fourth highest grossing movie of all times.
The exhibition runs from 2 June to 30 September.
