Gift boxes and hampers in Singapore with a touch of class!

18th August 2022 by Rebecca Bisset 3 Min Read

Hampers are great gifts, but they’ve got to look classy, and preferably not coated in cellophane! The team from Give Box Love came up with exactly that – fab-looking gift boxes and hampers in Singapore that have an environmentally friendly angle. If you’re looking to send someone some champagne, a pampering set or a baby hamper, read on. It’s a great expat entrepreneur story too.

Who’s behind these hampers in Singapore?

The co-founders of the business are a classic Singapore expat story. They’ve all lived here for many years (a combined total of over 60!), are married to Singaporeans and relish their lives in the little red dot.

Mark Bowling
Mark first moved to Singapore just after the end of SARS, and even though he’s had stints living in New York and Shanghai, this has been his permanent home since 2004. With his global marketing experience working with clients as diverse as Samsung, DBS, VW and M&S, Mark is the brains behind the branding and business operations of Give Box Love, as well as running his own marketing consultancy.

Kerry James
Having lived in Singapore for over 30 years, Australian-born Kerry is a very familiar face in the expat world, creating two highly successful local businesses – Citiprop real estate agency and the award-winning florist Flower Addict. She’s a proud mama to six, and says she can “usually be found moving house (!)”.

Stephanie Arifin
Born in Indonesia, Stephanie spent much of her childhood growing up in Singapore, with a wanderlust fulfilled by exploring much of the world since then. Currently, she is enjoying a career in the non-profit sector and is a proud mother to baby boy Liam and two fur-babies; she’s married to Singapore’s first MasterChef, Zander Ng.

About the gift boxes

One of the things I love about them is that they’re presented in sustainably-sourced and custom-made wooden gift boxes. These can be personalised, so they can be kept and used for ages. So much better than throwing away reams of packaging, even if it is recyclable.

The wood is sourced from constantly-replenished forests, and hand machined into custom sizes that have perfectly sliding lids. To help reduce the environmental impact, the boxes are slow-shipped to Singapore. They’re cleverly designed in four sizes that fit into each other, Russian doll style, meaning there is hardly any wasted space in the shipping containers.

Apart from the boxes, you can also choose a lovely basket to hold the goodies. These come with leather handles – and they can be kept and reused too.

Gift hampers with exclusive brands

The team has curated items sourced from all over the world (many of which are new brands to Singapore) and themed them to suit multiple occasions. Here are just a few of them you can find in their hampers.

POURIE – Indonesia
Pourie is a range of nature-based beauty products made in Indonesia using the finest ingredients and delivered in simple, low-impact packaging. Featuring some truly unique items, like a handmade linen crochet Face Pad and a unique Natural Deodorant made from Alum Stone, this brand is an addition that makes many of the gift sets truly different.

SKIN SAPIENS – UK/Spain
This new brand was created by a top chemist who wanted to create a natural range of skincare products for adults and babies, featuring transparent techniques and natural ingredients, while only making a low impact on the planet. Already award-winning, Skin Sapiens is exclusive to Give Box Love in this region.

AMAï – Vietnam
The range of ceramics from the Amaï range – the name means “wow” in Flemish! – is the creation of Belgian design duo Ingrid Ploem and Ina Stas. They developed the brand in Ho Chi Minh City on the basis of a shared love for design, culture and local craftsmanship.

The beautiful tea set featured in the “Tea For Two” curation is one of Give Box Love’s most popular gifts.

Hampers delivery and personalisation

Give Box Love offers future date or same-day delivery for the hampers (including for personalised and customised boxes) – handy for last minute gifts, baby hamper or surprise celebrations!

Box engraving can also include logos if you need corporate gift options, which is another specialty of the business.

Have a look through the website; it’s really easy to use and you can select according to category – “Food and drink”, “Him”, “Her”, “Baby” and more – or by event such as an anniversary or thank you! There’s also 10 percent off for all new sign-ups. Give it a go!
