You don’t have to be a race fanatic to enjoy a good F1 party! The Podium Lounge is regarded as the ultimate A-list party for the racing community, hosting Formula 1 drivers and teams, plus royalty, celebrities, ambassadors, supermodels and more, for three nights over F1 weekend. Here’s what to expect from this year’s adrenaline-fuelled bash.
Returning for its seventh year running following consecutive sell-out events over the Singapore Grand Prix weekend since 2009, The Podium Lounge – situated within the F1 track, directly across from The Paddock Club – will once again come to life as a super-glam ultra-lounge in the Grand Ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, with an expected 2,500 party-goers per night. Organised by expats Robbie Hoyes-Cock and Steve Yallop (formerly of Pangaea Ultra Lounge), the three-night event has become one of the highlights of the Grand Prix season.
In addition to offering an exclusive DHL VIP Lounge for the very first time, The Podium Lounge will feature a plethora of entertainment across all three nights, plus appearances by well-known personalities. F1 driver and Fox Sports Asia commentator for F1, Alex Yoong will be the guest host, alongside E! News Asia hosts, who will be interviewing celebrity guests on the red carpet. Red Bull’s two teams, Infiniti Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso, and their drivers, along with team members from Williams Martini Racing, will also be joining in the after-party festivities.
As for DJ performances, you can expect the most epic line-up yet, with musician and performance artist Kristian Nairn – you know him as Hodor from Game of Thrones – headlining Opening Night on 18 September; performances by Mark Doyle’s Fierce Angels (including saxophonist Lady V and lead singer, Soraya Vivian) on 19 September; and a set by Grammy-nominated artist and DJ 8KY 6LU of the duo LMFAO on Race Night (20 September). Resident Podium Lounge DJs Miles Slater and Patrick Oliver will also be on the decks throughout the weekend, alongside renowned Cuban percussionist Pablo Calzado.
Party guests can also look forward to fashion presentations spread across the three nights – including a showcase of finalists from design competition Project Covetella, a fashion show featuring Covetella’s women’s collection, and the exclusive debut of the brand’s dedicated men’s fashion portal, Covetellus – plus a complimentary grooming bar offering services for both men and women, a special exhibition by Galeries Bartoux featuring works by Andy Warhol, a live auction of rare F1 memorabilia and a performance by world famous “speed painter” Armin Flossdorf, who specialises in Formula 1 art.
Tickets and VIP tables are always quick to sell out for this event, so it’s advisable to reserve a spot as early as possible. Tickets can be purchased exclusively via the website, podiumlounge.com/sg. For VIP table reservations, call 9459 5211 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
