In the market for the best smartphone? Check out these three new stars on the gadgets market that have emerged from yesterday’s Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona – HTC M9, Samsung S6, and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge to own the best smartphone this April.
We were really excited when Apple unveiled its iPhone 6 last year, until, like many of you, we discovered some flaws in the technology that made us rethink our then recent smartphone grab.
Behold, the gadgets gurus over at Samsung have recently unveiled the newest (and best) in smart phone technology: the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. Both of Samsung’s new stars now use metal and Gorilla Glass 4 (to avoid the pesky bending problems we faced with the iPhone 6), to reinforce the casing, and what’s more, the new Samsung S6 Edge also features a wrap around display that enables the edges to “glow” when a new notification comes through, saving you from that embarrassing SMS from your bestie during business meetings because you left your phone face-up on the table.
But enough about the aesthetics, the Samsung S6 also comes with a wholly improved new 5-megapixel camera interface app with improved aperture that enables even amateur photographers like myself to capture my most flattering selfie and awesome stop-motion jumps, jives and wails from the dance floor. Better yet, the Samsung S6 and S6 Edge have a new, improved charge up time so that you don’t have to become and anxious basket case when your phone drops to 18% memory yet you’ve only got a half hour to charge it before heading back out to a dinner or an event.
In tecchie-speak, the new Samsung S6 features a 5.1” Quad HD screen with Super AMOLED display (super sharp with a display resolution of 2560 x 1440), and 14 nm technology to support a 64-bit architecture, and even goes far enough to upgrade the Gear VR for extra convenience when you have your hands full but want to remain in touch with the digital world.
Samsung S6 and Samsung S6 Galaxy Edge come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions and will be available in Singapore on April 20, 2015 (hello, did you get snubbed for Valentine’s Day gifts this year?)

And now we move onto the HTC One M9, which by many ways and means is a lot like the M8 launched last year.
The beautiful sound you’d get from the HTC One M8 is still in the HTC M9, with Dolby “Boomsound” speakers to help you better croon to your tunes while stuck on the MRT during crazy rush hour commutes or during your blissful trail run / vertical hike expeditions.
Still equipped with it full-HD 5-inch display, the HTC M9 moves its previously rear-facing camera to the front, while loading a newer 20 megapixel camera on the back, so you’ll have incredible clarity on your bird watching haunts or when you’re playing eye in the sky when snapping denizens down below.
The HTC M9 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop software to keep your browsing prowess in tip-top shape.
The HTC One M9 may be the best smartphone in its class due to it’s well-known lower prices than the bigger players. We’ve yet to see what the prices are, as the phone is set to launch at the end of March this year.
