It’s almost time to kick off another exciting F1 Singapore 2018 Grand Prix season and we’ve got all the details on the great acts coming for the party, for those of you still deciding on getting tickets. There’s a global feel to the entertainment this year. Expect the likes of American rock band The Killers joining Dutch producer Martin Garrix, UK pop superstar Dua Lipa, and Taiwanese singer Jay Chou at the event, plus a whole lot more – in short, it’s a formula for a great time!
Kick off with Day 1:
Opening the race weekend will be Jay Chou, performing material from his most recent album, Jay Chou’s Bedtime Stories – including massive hit ‘Love Confession’ – at the Padang stage (Zone 4). He’ll also be sharing the stage in a special collaboration with local jazz vocalist Joanna Dong.
Also on Day 1, poet and singer-songwriter Sampa The Great is sure to impress with her lyrical mastery and experimental beats at the Downtown stage (Zone 4). You can head over to the Sunset stage (Zone 1) on the 15th if you miss her on Friday.
Don’t forget to catch our very own The Lion City Boy at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre (Zone 4), dishing out a little bit of rap, hip-hop and local humour.
Keep going on Day 2:
Race-goers are in for a treat with a performance by The Killers at the Padang stage (Zone 4) on the Saturday, with iconic tunes ‘Mr Brightside’, ‘Somebody Told Me’ and ‘Run for Cover’ bound to feature in the show.
With his 2017 debut solo album As You Were hitting the number 1 spot in the UK, former Oasis front man and rock-and-roll legend Liam Gallagher is a must-see at the Padang stage (Zone 4) on Saturday.
Best known as DJ and turntablist for Linkin Park, Joe Hahn will deliver a debut solo performance at the Downtown stage (Zone 4) on this day too.
How’s it already Day 3!:
Dua Lipa has come a long way since being discovered back in 2009, releasing top hits such as ‘Be The One’ and ‘New Rules’. Catch her at the Padang stage (Zone 4) on Sunday before the races.
With over 31 Top 40 UK singles and multiple awards, Simply Red are a true global arena act, performing to over 11 million people in 1,100 shows worldwide. Fans can look forward to hits such as ‘If You Don’t Know Me by Now’ and ‘Stars’ at the Village stage (Zone 1).
Everyone knows Martin Garrix’s big tunes, including ‘Animals’ and ‘Scared To Be Lonely’. You wouldn’t want to miss this chance to catch him live. Party it up on the last day as Garrix spins his chart-topping hits at the Padang stage (Zone 4) after the races, to end this year’s F1 season on a high.
Other great acts
Playing across multiple nights of the F1 weekend are hip-hop groups The Sugarhill Gang and Young Fathers iconic ABBA tribute band Björn Again, and rising Japanese pop-rock band End of the World (Sekai No Owari).
Representing the local music scene are Sing! China’s Joanna Dong, singer-songwriter Abby Simone and her band MMLD, ‘vintage’ artiste Miss Lou, indie-rock band Mildlife and duo Picks. For those who like clubbing the night away, catch DJs Myrne, Eat Me Pop Tart, Emo Night SG and Matteblacc.
