Looking for an eyebag removal treatment?

30th January 2020 by Anthia Chng 3 Min Read

Have you heard of Rejuran Healer or Rejuran-i? This anti-ageing aesthetic treatment is gaining popularity for all the right reasons: it’s fast, effective and available at many aesthetic clinics. Whether it’s crow’s feet, eyebags or dark eye circles that you’re dealing with, or perhaps dry and dull skin in need of a hydrating fix, this non-surgical skin booster may be the answer to your concerns – without needing to turn to Botox or fillers.

How does it work?

Rejuran Healer can be administered all over the face – even the delicate eye area. One popular form of the treatment is Rejuran-i, which improves hydration and erases fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, lessens dark eye circles and removes eyebags.

Before the treatment begins, numbing cream is applied to make the procedure more comfortable. A single entry point is then made with a small gauge needle, before a blunt cannula is inserted and moved to the tear trough area. Rejuran-i is then slowly and carefully injected into the concerned area. The blunt cannula is moved around to treat the areas around the eyes. The process is repeated until all the Rejuran-i has been administered. (Psst… Read on to the end for an in-depth video!)

Other benefits of Rejuran

As we know, the leading cause of skin ageing is a lack of collagen – a result of elastin production slowing down. Rejuran Healer involves injecting skin boosters made of polynucleotides, which are DNA fragments derived from wild salmon. This induces the fibroblast production of collagen, resulting in faster cell growth and regeneration. The result? Skin is rejuvenated from the inside out, improving elasticity. Dehydrated skin is given a much-needed moisture boost, too. It’s especially effective around the eyes, cheeks and jawline, with a fresher result and a more natural look for those who aren’t keen on the standard fillers and Botox.

Apart from its tightening and lifting effects, Rejuran Healer also improves skin texture by helping the protective layers to recover. It can be used to treat acne conditions, too, by reducing the amount of sebum in the skin.

Can bruising be prevented?

Rejuran-i is typically painless and takes no more than 10 minutes to administer. There are no real side effects, apart from some possible slight swelling, which should last for no more than a few hours.

With over a decade of experience in the aesthetics practice, Dr Tommy from Trinity Aesthetics has successfully treated many patients with eyebags and dark eye circles. He practices a “single injection, no bruise” technique for Rejuran-i, where a cannula is inserted into the tear trough area, thus helping to reduce bruising that may normally happen with injectables.

What happens next?

Three to five days after the first session, you can expect to see (and feel) softer skin. When Rejuran Healer is used on oily skin, sebum secretion is also visibly reduced as the balance between the oil and moisture of the skin is improved. A course of four treatments is recommended, three to four weeks apart.

After returning for your second session, skin elasticity should start to improve as the regeneration of collagen begins. The fine wrinkles around the eyes start to smoothen out, while pores are minimised. By the third and fourth treatments, lost volume from ageing will start to fill out naturally, further improving skin laxity, fine lines and overall skin texture. A maintenance treatment every six months is recommended thereafter to keep the skin looking supple and healthy.

Psst… Jacqui from our team tried it – here’s what she has to say!

“I was apprehensive about the treatment as the eyes are such a delicate area, plus I’m a bit of a wuss with needles. A numbing cream is optional, which takes around 20-30 minutes to take effect. To be honest, it took all the feeling away when the treatment was administered. I was expecting it to hurt but I barely felt a thing.”
