Expat Living Photo Competition 2012: We reveal the winners!

This was Expat Living’s fourth annual photo competition and it witnessed a 30-percent increase in the number of entries from last year’s already hotly contested comp. Thanks to everyone who entered their fabulous images.

1. GRAND PRIZE WINNER

Milla Kantola – “Fallen Stars”

“I took this picture in Finland during my summer holiday. It is 1am – just that time when the mist starts to come up.”

Prize:

Four return economy class tickets between Singapore and Bali on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

and

Five nights’ accommodation in Villa Samadhana in Bali

2. RUNNERS UP

Cathy Ward – “Bright Eyes: photo taken in a small village in Vietnam”

Slava Druk – “Night lights from a rooftop, reflected from solar panels.”

Each runner-up receives a photography package (one from Littleones Photography, the other from Tomato Photo) including a complimentary creative photography shoot and a photo print.

3. CATEGORY WINNERS

Nature: Susan Richman

“The original love heart – dragonflies enjoying their Sunday afternoon!”

City: Dorottya Ács

“Kite festival in Singapore. Locals and expats enjoying a windy afternoon at The Lawn@Marina Bay.”

People: Khadija Siddique

“Tired of posing at the Singapore Botanical Garden.”

Travel: Lia Jazwinska

Prize:

Each category winner receives a $200 dining voucher to spend at Il Lido Italian Dining & Lounge Bar on Sentosa.

Again, thanks to everyone who entered. Be sure to start filing your best photos away for next year’s competition. Thanks, too, to Kate Griffiths of Littleones Photography (www.littleonesphotography) and Hart Tan of Tomato Photo (www.tomato.sg) for their invaluable help in the judging process, and to all our very generous prize givers.
