Safari Zoo Run 2018
27 January @ 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
Safari Zoo Run will be returning for its 10th installment in 2018. Choose from a variety of race categories for all abilities and ages. Experienced runners can enter the 10km competitive race while families can enjoy a leisurely trot with the 5.5km run or 2.5km dash. Children will love the 2.5km kids’ dash.
The Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s four park icons — Jurong Bird Park’s Sunny the hornbill, Night Safari’s Chawang the elephant, River Safari’s Canola the manatee and Singapore Zoo’s Ah Meng the orangutan — will come together
to support their native animal friends. Race participants will choose a team that champions a related group of threatened local species, and raise awareness on their team’s animal species via an Instagram contest. Participants from the team with the greatest outreach will be eligible for a lucky draw of wild prizes.
- Team Sunny: supports fellow feathered friends, the Asian songbirds
- Team Chawang: supports fellow friend in Night Safari, the critically endangered Sunda pangolin
- Team Canola: supports fellow aquatic friends, shark and stingray species
- Team Ah Meng: supports fellow primate, the critically endangered Raffles’ banded langur
The search is also on to find the most loyal Safari Zoo Run participant who has ran the race in the past decade. Three complimentary race slots for runners who have attended the most previous runs are up for grabs. Runners are invited to write to firstname.lastname@example.org to submit an entry. Runners are also encouraged to donate to the Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund, which funds local researchers and conservationists in their efforts to study and protect local wildlife.
Registration closes on 7 January 2018.
