Growing up in 2025 is a vastly different experience compared to the ’80s. Today’s girls face increased pressure, competition and high expectations, especially in driven cities like Singapore.
Join this workshop focusing on the critical aspects of adolescent health for girls with a focus on practical ways in which we can support them. (We know it’s not always easy)! Experienced international family physician Dr Valerie Druon and teen-choice dietitian Vanessa McNamara will provide an understanding of how their brain, bodies, nutritional needs are changing and how we can support their mental and physical wellbeing.

About the speakers
Dr Valerie Druon
MBBS (Sydney, Australia), FRACGP (Australia), DIP (Family Practice Dermatology) (Singapore)
Born in France, Dr Valerie is a French speaking Australian family physician who obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2000. She became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2007. She holds a Graduate Diploma of Family Practice Dermatology. In Singapore, she has served the international community, including French speakers, for almost 9 years.
Vanessa McNamara
Clinical Dietitian. BSc. Biochemistry (ANU), Masters in Nutrition & Dietetics, (University of Sydney) MBBS (Sydney, Australia)
Vanessa has more than 20 years experience working as a clinical dietitian in communities, hospitals and private practice. Since graduating with a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics from The University of Sydney in 2000, Vanessa has lived and worked in Australia, throughout the United Kingdom, Bangalore and Mumbai (India), and has worked in private practice in Singapore for the past 14 years.
