Income Eco Run 2019
25 April, 2019
Income Eco Run (IER) 2019 returns on 28 April. The eco run will have new initiatives to encourage participants to continue their journey towards zero waste. Aiming to reduce the use of single-use plastic products at the event, the race will see the introduction of the Zero Waste 5km Run (13 years and above) where all participants of the category will be Zero Waste Runners. Other race categories include a 10km individual, mixed team 21.1km Half Marathon and two distances for children – 800m for those aged four to eight years olds and 1.2km for nine to twelve year olds.
The race is eliminating the use of plastic-lined paper cups at hydration points for the Zero Waste 5km Run. Instead, each participant of this category will be given a specially produced reusable cup. These resuable cups will be handed out to runners on the day of the race. Foldable and easy to hold, runners can stash the cup in their pockets or clip it to their running vests.
