Fashion Revolution Day
27 April @ 11:00 am - 8:30 pm
Fashion Revolution returns this April with an exciting programme to look forward to. With the aim to raise awareness of the social and environmental impact of the fashion industry, the event highlights how the future fashion industry must respect both people and the planet with fair and decent work, environmental protection and gender equality. Held at The Cocoon Space in Design Orchard, here are some of the event highlights:
1. Thought-provoking installation pieces on mindful consumption by students from Raffles College of Higher Education Singapore. Interactive exhibit by students from LASALLE College of the Arts, which will feature unique creations in vintage Japanese textiles approached through a zero waste design method, accompanied by specially designed workshops.
2. Hands-on workshops focused on artisanal craftsmanship and sustainable fashion coordinated by The Green Collective SG.
3. Panel discussion with local designers, media and opinion leaders entitled “Breaking Up With Fast-Fashion” hosted by Zerrin.
4. An “alternative” fashion show on the rooftop, showcasing local Singapore-based brands.
