Discovery Walks: Telok Ayer, Where Gods & Goddesses Reside
16 October @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Join Jane’s Tours to explore the historic coastline of Chinatown to delve into the traditions, customs and religions brought here by large numbers of merchants, traders and coolies. Start on the south bank of the Singapore River and walk along Chulia Street, the former enclave of South Indian Chettiars, and then through Telok Ayer Street where you’ll learn more about the great diversity of the Chinese community in mid-19th century Singapore. Other highlights include UNESCO awarded Wak Hai Cheng Bio and Tien Hock Keng temples.
