Chinese New Year Etiquette, Rituals, Traditions and More
20 January @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
If you’re new to Singapore, you’ll have quickly discovered there’s a wide range of colourful holidays celebrated throughout the year. Chinese New Year is among the biggest, so we thought we’d look at some of the ins and outs of its traditions and rituals.
Our host Kristen Graff is an etiquette expert who has lived in Singapore for many years. She has a few tips for anyone who might be going to a CNY dinner celebration and who feels unfamiliar with the traditions around it. In the session, you’ll find out about table etiquette, look at considerations such as the colour of your outfit, and hear about the ritual of giving red packets or ang paos (money envelopes).
