Butterflies Up-Close at the Science Centre Singapore

30 April - 31 December

Butterflies up close exhibition

Head down to Science Centre Singapore for their Butterflies Up-Close exhibition. As Singapore’s first indoor butterfly sanctuary, it houses more than 500 tropical butterflies. Go on an immersive journey through all four stages of a butterfly’s metamorphosis – from egg to adulthood. Enjoy interactive touch points, live displays and a vivid storyline that flows across five zones and gain unique insights into the lives of these fragile creatures. The butterflies are housed within a humidity and temperature-controlled enclosure which makes them less vulnerable to natural predators and changing climate conditions, increasing their chances of survival.

Highlights of the exhibition include a “Research Pod” where you can observe butterfly specimens under microscopes and learn about their anatomy, look at the iridescence on their wings and find out how a butterfly views the world. Get up-close to these beauties, including Singapore’s national favourite, the Common Rose. The exhibition is a gated attraction and is located at Hall D.
