EL’s top picks for pizza in Singapore: Where we go for yummy takeaway and frozen options

We at Expat Living love our pizza; whether it’s dine-in, delivery or do-it-yourself, there’s just no denying the cheesy, carb-filled goodness, no matter how you slice it! Here are some of our top picks for pizza parlours, takeaway and even frozen options.

Verve Pizza Bar

“I love Verve Pizza Bar at Marina Bay, just next to The Shoppes. The pizza is thin-crust, but still has enough dough to sink your teeth into, with the yummiest, freshest toppings. My favourite is the Verve Special with pepperoni, cooked ham, artichokes, onions, mushrooms and mozzarella. It’s also a fabulous place for pizza and cocktails (the perfect mix) if you’re going out on the town afterward. It’s reasonably priced and also offers delivery.”

Susannah Jaffer, LIV Editor

“One hundred and ten percent, Peperoni Pizzeria on Greenwood Avenue! Not just because my kids love the pizza and pasta, as well as the highly anticipated single scoop of ice cream that comes with the kids’ meal, but also the service we get from Edna and the rest of the staff. Often, we’ll all go there on an early Friday evening, sit outside with a bucket of beer and pizzas, and catch up on our week.”

“I like Spizza – nice and thin and tasty, with over 25 options to choose from. They deliver island-wide, too. I also buy Dr Oetkers frozen pizzas – the spinach pizza is my favourite, but the others are good too. They’re around $9 at most supermarkets, and a great help to have in the freezer for when teenagers appear at your house!”

Pizzeria Mozza is not only my favourite pizzeria, it’s one of my favourite restaurants in Singapore (a bold statement, I know!). Originating in LA, this pizzeria provides big, crispy-crust pizzas with a variety of delicious toppings like fresh goat cheese, leeks, scallions, garlic and bacon – yum! It’s also conveniently located opposite the Marina Bay Sands Theatre – perfect for a quick pre-show bite.”

Natalie Whittell, Regional Brand Partnerships and Events Manager

“I like Baker & Cook’s newly opened Plank Sourdough Pizza in a quiet neighbourhood on the East Coast. Residents, including myself, are rejoicing at this new addition to the dining scene (no more schlepping to Greenwood Avenue!), which serves yummy sourdough pizza, perfect for a casual dinner. I recommend the ‘number two’: tomato, mozzarella, eggplant, kalamata olives, chilli and chorizo sausage ($22).

“My pick is Proofer Bakery and Pizzeria. Although it has various outlets, I go to the one at Changi City Point. It’s a takeaway joint, and I love how I can pick and choose the flavours to make up one pan. My favourites are the vegetarian pizza (me being a carnivore, this only shows how delish this particular veg pizza is!) and the four cheese pizza – oozy with every bite!”
