Duxton Hill, Singapore: Where to eat, drink, shop and sleep

Between Tanjong Pagar and Outram Park MRT stations, lies an abundance of niche cafés and quirky stores waiting to be discovered. We’d heard the government had stopped renewing the licences of the KTV bars and seedy nightspots along Duxton Road; and the area is quickly improving as an eclectic collection of bars and restaurants pop up. This is a great little area to explore with an appetite!

The Spot: La Maison Fatien

The Buzz: A neighbourhood bistro that serves classic and simple French dishes such as confit de canard, foie gras and profiteroles. They offer “weekday cocottes”; a different dish is served from Monday to Friday including coq au vin on Mondays and a chef’s special on Thursdays. Don’t miss the French fries and the comfortable armchairs in the seating area on the second floor (it feels a bit like a comfortable, homely lounge room).

The Location: 76 Duxton Road

The Opening Hours: Monday to Friday: 12pm – 2.30pm, 6.30pm – 10.30pm; Saturday: 6.30pm – 10.30pm; closed on Sunday

On the flipside, they have a wide range of starters, desserts and an extensive wine list.
