Dr Ruth Manasseh is a highly qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist who has a Clinical Doctorate (PhD) in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the University of Essex.
She specialises in treating adults, young adults, and couples suffering from complex trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, panic attacks, personality problems, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
She has been practicing for 20 years both in private practice and with the British National Health Service (NHS) where she worked at the Unit for the Study of Trauma and its Aftermath at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust and at the Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation Trust.
She has treated a wide variety of conditions, consulted and supervised Psychologists and Junior Psychiatrists regularly and lectured on the Treatment of Psychological Trauma at the University of Hertfordshire School of Postgraduate Medicine.
Her ongoing research is based on a new treatment she formulated called Applied Cinematherapy which was the subject of her Clinical Doctorate. The research outcome indicates that Applied Cinematherapy offers a way for trauma patients, who are in impasse, to re-engage in treatment. It is also suitable for young people who find engagement with therapy difficult.
