7th October 2019 by Melinda Murphy 3 Min Read

Dempsey Hill is the perfect spot to steal a little “me-time” and enjoy some retail therapy. Take a look at just a handful of the great shops and restaurants where you can go to melt away your stress.

The Flower Haus by Poppy

This is the place to go if you’re looking for some special floral arrangements. Each one is unique – the kind of arrangement that makes you go “Wow!” You can even host your own event in their rustic warehouse, which is immersed in nature, showered with natural light and impeccably styled with floral arrangements. Or, if you want to learn to arrange flowers yourself, sign up for one of the several workshops Poppy offers (poppy.com.sg)

Bungalow 55

This lovely boutique has a beautifully curated selection of homeware sourced from around the globe. The store truly has everything you need to transform your house into a home: lamps, prints, pendant lighting, rugs, armchairs, small furniture pieces and decorative accessories. Owner Nina Beale also offers an incredible interior design service to help you create the home of your dreams. It’s fun to visit, but you can also check out the offerings online at bungalow55.com.

CuriO

If you’re on the hunt for distinctive items for your space, be sure to check out CuriO. This home furnishings business has been around since 2008 and its growing clientele has fallen in love with the store’s special pieces designed by artists and furniture designers from around the world. Now, it’s a destination for world-renowned star brands in interior design such as Timothy Oulton, Halo and many more.

Meat-me Steakhouse

Too many carbs over your holiday? New restaurant Meat-me has the perfect protein-rich answer! This casual place always lets the meat shine, with signature dishes such as US prime tenderloin with panfried foie gras, and herb-crusted Australian rack of lamb. Get together with a girlfriend for a special lunch or bring the hubby – it’s family-friendly, too. Also, Meat-me does an awesome three course weekday lunch deal from just $29 – with wine or bubbles for $9 a glass. (Perfect therapy for motherhood!) The steaks are charcoal-grilled and mouthwatering, and the sides equally special. Chargrilled pork bacon? Yum. Three-cheese spinach? To die for! This is the real deal.
