Container taking its sweet time?

5th February 2018 by Expat Living 2 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/container-taking-its-sweet-time-heres-where-to-head-for-short-term-furniture-rental/

So, you’ve moved to Singapore and found an apartment that you love, but all your worldly possessions are aboard a cargo ship crossing the ocean? We’re here to tell you that there’s an alternative to panic buying furniture, or sitting tight in a serviced apartment, while you wait for your container to clear customs, and it’s called furniture rental.

With so many expats coming and going, it’s no surprise that there are several companies on the island that have this covered, offering super-flexible contracts available for as little as one month on a huge range of furniture and furnishings. We’ve got the low-down on one that’ll help you move straight into your new home with just your carry-on!

Lounge furniture rental
Long or short-term, furniture rental makes for a hassle-free moving day!

Head to Window to the Past’s four-storey Redhill interiors showroom to browse beautifully displayed contemporary living spaces and source stylish furniture and furnishings for your living room, dining room, home office, bedroom and outdoors. Or, if the diary can’t quite stretch to a decorating date, let the WTP team ping you a list of items to choose from before you even touch down – think finely constructed sofas, armchairs, beds and dining tables, plus lamps, TVs, towels, coffee makers and all the baby and child paraphernalia any parent could ever need. Check, check!

These chaps won’t just leave everything at your front door and be on their way. To make things easy, they’ll do everything short of boiling the kettle for your arrival – from making up the beds with freshly laundered linen, positioning reconditioned furniture just so, and stocking your kitchen with saucepans, sponges and soap.

Drop the team a line to find out more about their short or long-term contracts available from one month to 36 months or more, with the flexibility to hire just one item or kit out your entire home. You’ll also have the option to own your leased furniture at a nominal cost at the end of the contract, which we think is pretty nifty given how attached one can get to a select furnishing or two.

Flick through the gallery for real homes furnished with short-term rental pieces from WTP.
