Clarke Quay’s Halloween Carnival 2014: Spooky parties, live music and drink deals galore at ‘Once Upon A Nightmare’-themed event

By: Cherylene Chan

Looking for something wicked (in both senses of the word) this Halloween? October 31st falls on a Friday night this year, so it’s pretty much the law that you have to enjoy a night on the town in fancy dress. One of the best spots to hit is Clarke Quay, which hosts a brilliant carnival in Central Fountain Square every year. The theme in 2014 is ‘Once Upon A Nightmare’, and the famous nightclub hot spot will be teeming with Halloween parties galore. We’re talking a ghoulish extravaganza of club nights, drinks deals, themed grub and even a spot of late-night market shopping.

Check out snaps from last year’s Halloween Carnival in Clarke Quay

Clarke Quay‘s massive Halloween carnival will be hosted by 98.7FM DJs Justin Ang and Vernon A. The local radio celebs will get the crowd going for live band Enigma, plus they’ll be dishing out frighteningly fantastic prizes with a bunch of clever, comedic stage games.

Make sure you head out decked in fancy dress – costumed folks will get free entry to clubs, drinks discounts and heaps of treats (as if you weren’t planning to dress as a sexy witch anyway). Racking your brains for a ghastly costume to wear to make the most of the freebies? Why not stick to Clarke Quay‘s Halloween theme and dress as a demented fairytale character? The best ‘Once Upon A Nightmare’ outfit will win $200 worth of dining vouchers. Not too handy with the face paint? Don’t sweat it – there will be professional face painters on hand to give you a grisly makeover and ensure you’re horror flick-worthy in a jiffy. Look out for Clarke Quay‘s roving pack of monstrous creatures too – scary selfies galore.
