5 ways AutoApp makes car servicing a breeze
My friend Gerard’s Nissan Sylphy 1.5 was due for an LTA inspection. However, he couldn’t drive his car to the workshop as he’s recovering from a recent shoulder surgery. So he used AutoApp to get the job done!
#1 Easy to use with timely updates
After a simple sign up and email verification process to set up an account, we could immediately book a service. Gerard chose the Essential Package ($138), which includes:

- Wash and vacuum

After selecting his preferred date and time slot and providing the pick-up address, we waited for an AutoApp Service Ambassador to be assigned.
Within 15 minutes, Gerard received a WhatsApp response from a representative informing him that the car servicing appointment would be confirmed the next day! This is despite us making request on a Sunday evening, when most car workshops are already closed.
The next day, a Service Ambassador was assigned; he got in touch with Gerard to confirm the pick-up details again. A WhatsApp chat group was initiated to provide updates on the process.
#2 Knowledgeable and responsible car servicing concierge service
On the day of car servicing, the Service Ambassador explained how things would proceed, before documenting the condition of the car by taking photos of it from various angles with his iPad. The entire handover process, including signing the car over, was carried out on the tablet, using AutoApp’s proprietary software. Gerard was also able to view a copy of this record from the app on his smartphone.
The handover process took a few minutes. Once completed, the Service Ambassador drove the car to a workshop in Ang Mo Kio, which was the closest from Gerard’s home.
Gerard was regularly updated on the day; after a diagnosis of the vehicle, for example, he was informed that some parts had to be replaced. The Service Ambassador sent him photos of these and provided a quotation for repairs. According to Gerard, the prices quoted were reasonable and the Service Ambassador explained things clearly.
With this clear picture of what was needed for his car, Gerard was able to approve the quotation and make payment directly from the AutoApp app. Then, when the car was returned, he received an overview of the work carried out. The entire process was, in Gerard’s words, seamless, and the Service Ambassador had a professional yet warm and friendly approach.
Gerard says using AutoApp took a load off his mind about getting his car serviced in time and ready for the LTA inspection. With the time saved on being present at the workshop, he could focus on his own work. He says he’ll be using the app again for its convenience and time savings.
#3 Complete safety service
Before the car was returned to Gerard, high-contact touch points such as door handles, steering wheel, gear lever, handbrake lever, column stalks and control switches were wiped down with anti-bacterial wipes. The Service Ambassador also donned a face mask and gloves and used a seat cover during the vehicle handover – an important step amidst an ongoing pandemic.
Car owners can also opt for the ProActive cabin sanitisation service. The disinfectants used have antibacterial properties that have been proven to last for up to seven days.
#4 Cost savings with a car servicing concierge service
A car concierge service is useful when you need someone to move your car from one part of Singapore to another; for example, perhaps you’d like it picked up from your house or office to be brought to the workshop.
