26th January 2021 by Expat Living 5 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/buy-sell-second-hand-designer-clothes-accessories-singapore/

Love wearing designer clothes, handbags and accessories, but not so keen on the hefty price tag? Thankfully, there’s a growing number of online destinations where you can buy authentic pre-loved premium brands at fabulous discounts, or swap them instead! Buying second hand is a more sustainable way of shopping as well as saving yourself money.  Get browsing our shortlist of places to shop pre-loved luxury labels in Singapore – as well as some good online stores for designer clothes at discounted prices.

You can’t go wrong with a classic LBB – the Little Black Bag!

StyleTribute

We discovered StyleTribute, Singapore’s first pre-loved designer destination, a few years back when we interviewed founder Stephanie Crespin about her inspiration and entrepreneurship. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength, and has been dubbed Asia’s fastest-growing second-hand designer store. (It recently added a men’s and kids’ section, too!)

Despite holding a wide assortment of luxury second-hand and vintage designer clothes and accessories – the most popular brands include Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and more – this marketplace remains highly curated and every single piece is authenticated by a team of in-house experts.

So how does it work? If you’re a buyer, simply head to the website and browse it’s inventory of discounted designer treasures. (Hint: if you create an account, you can save your favourite pieces and come back to them on payday!) If you want to sell pieces from your wardrobe, StyleTribute offers a white glove service, which means your items will be collected and listed, or you can choose to upload your own photos using a fuss-free sellers mobile app.

Reebonz

Looking to invest in a classic Chanel purse, or perhaps a statement Rolex watch? Don’t make your decision without a visit to e-tailer Reebonz, where you can buy and sell new and pre-owned luxury pieces from over 550 designer brands. There’s three ways you can browse Reebonz’ selection of pre-loved premium designers: online and through its sleek mobile app; through curated on-site merchant boutiques which give you direct access to rare second hand luxury products from reputable boutiques.

where to buy pre-loved designer bags in Singapore

If you’re considering items worth more than $3000, you can arrange for a private viewing of your selection with the Reebonz team so you can hold and feel the items in person before making your decision. For sellers, Reebonz’ premium concierge White Glove service is simple and convenient, and includes pick-up, expert authentication by internationally trained ateliers, and delivery to the buyer. Pay a visit to their multi-brand boutique at Suntec city, or download the Reebonz mobile app to start browsing.

Net-a-porter

Needing no introduction, Net-a-porter offers a plethora of clothes, jewellery, skincare, makeup and accessories from international luxury brand names as well as premium indie designers (our current faves include Cult Gaia, Figue and Dodo Bar Or). What’s more, you can get express shipping to more than 170 countries (including next day delivery to Singapore!) There’s nothing like seeing that little black box land on your table.

Madam Milan

If you’re nuts about luxury handbags, then you need to check out Madam Milan. With its mantra being that designer goods shouldn’t cost a fortune, the store’s tempting array of branded accessories are available online and in four bricks-and-mortar locations (Far East Plaza, Raffles Place, The Star Vista and 112 Katong), and discounts range from 20 to 70 percent. Expect nearly-new or gently used pieces from brands like Bottega Veneta, Hermes, Tods, Chanel and Prada.

The Attic Place

Tucked away inside Far East Shopping Centre, The Attic Place boutique has been around for years, and is licensed to both buy and sell pre-loved or brand new luxury goods. Its experienced team carefully curates the selection to ensure each piece is authentic – from inspecting stamps to stitching and hardware workmanship to checking manufacturer date codes and serial numbers for consistency.

Carousell

This marketplace is chock full of sellers selling second-hand designer clothes, shoes and more. Simply download the easy-to-use Carousell app to your phone and head to the ‘Luxury’ category tab to browse hundreds of branded bags, wallets, clothes and watches from various designer labels. If you’re buying, you can chat and ask questions directly with each seller about the item. Selling something? It takes just a few seconds to snap pictures of your items with your phone and upload them to your profile.

Swapaholic

A fantastic way to shop without any guilt (or cash exchanged!), Swapaholic events, held regularly around Singapore, enable you to swap clothes and refresh your wardrobe at the same time, getting rid of those pieces that just no longer float your boat or fit you. (Apparently, most of us only use about 20 to 40 percent of what’s in our closet as it is!) What’s more, it’s a more responsible way to acquire and dispose of clothes – one that doesn’t hurt your wallet or the planet – as well as a fun way to make new friends.

Refash

Online store Refash makes it easy to clean out your closet for cash as well as shop for quality second-hand clothes from a variety of branded names like ZARA, Love Bonito, Topshop, Charles & Keith and more. The company also has a flagship store located at Cityplaza, where you can shop second-hand fashion and save up to 90 percent off the original retail price!

The Outnet.com

For style and price conscious shoppers, The Outnet (also owned by the Net-a-Porter group) is a destination for new discounted luxury fashion and accessories. From basics by T by Alexander Wang or handbags by Marni at up to 60 percent off, this is a go-to destination for serious style steals! Also check out the elegant designs from the brands in house label, Iris & Ink, a collection of fashion-forward and quality wardrobe staples, There’s new arrivals every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, with express shipping to 170 countries worldwide.

Shopbop

With free express international shipping and easy returns, Shopbop makes shopping online for your designer label fix fuss-free. You’ll also find plenty of style edits on site which give plenty of outfit inspiration, whether you’re a wedding guest looking for the perfect dress or on the hunt for some premium activewear.

MyTheresa

Home to more than 180 international luxury labels like Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Saint Laurent and By Malene Birger, MyTheresa is updated with over 500 new arrivals each week for you to browse through. What’s more, your order will arrive in Singapore in no less than 2 to 4 business days.

Now facelifts can be non-surgical and non-invasive which we love.

This facelift in Singapore uses painless High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU).

How it works.....
HIFU uses ultrasound technology to reach three different depths of the skin, in order to deliver focused beams of 60 to 70 degrees Celsius without disrupting the skin surface. These beams will melt the fats in the face, while tightening the skin and boosting collagen production; this allows your skin to continually lift and tone after the treatment.

We thought this was super cool so we tried it out. Read the full review on our stories

If you’ve spied an Insta-worthy floral arrangement that immediately had you wondering who designed it and where it came from, chances are you were looking at one of the arrangements of The Floral Atelier.

According to the company’s floral artisans, designing a beautiful bunch of flowers is as much a science as it is an art. That may explain why they say it takes more than just a “good eye” to create their particular arrangements.

The Floral Atelier’s founder LELIAN CHEW is widely regarded as an authoritative figure in luxury events and florals – to the point where she’s been hailed as the “Million Dollar Wedding Planner” on a BBC documentary! Navigating your daughters’ preteen years is probably one of the most difficult periods of parenting – for you and them.

Issues around lack of confidence, body image and low self-esteem can start to surface during these years. With the added potential stresses of cyberbullying and social media usage, the pressure is real and the impact on families can be overwhelming.

Empowering young girls (and boys, of course) is your responsibility as a parent, and it may mean having a guide or a mentor to help them through these preteen and teen issues.

Establishing emotional literacy from a young age can positively impact how your daughter copes in life, right through to adulthood.
