Fun kids’ toys and gear to buy

24th June 2021 by Patricea Chow 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/best-toy-shops-in-singapore-where-to-buy-kids-toys-and-kids-gear-online/

Looking for some fresh ways to keep young ones entertained at home? It’s handy to know where to buy kids’ toys and other great gear for children in Singapore. From scooters, activity books and games to backpacks and water bottles for a fun day out, here are some options to get you started. (Thank us later!)

Child-friendly & safe kids’ toys

After wondering where to buy kids’ toys and trying to source the right kinds of toys that were inspiring, fun and safe for their own kids, Kevin and Angela started LittleShop. The store’s selection of kids’ toys come from around the world. It includes wooden play sets by New Classic Toys from the Netherlands, and, from Germany, STEM brick building sets by Teifoc Germany, and natural antibacterial toys by Anbac.

We’ve got our eyes on…

  • The New Classic Toys Electric Kitchenette ($269.90). This one will fire up your child’s imagination when it comes to whipping up a meal for the family. Made of wood from sustainable forestry, it includes a light-up stove top with realistic lights and sound, a microwave, and all the crockery and cutlery needed to prepare and serve a meal. Aged three years and up.
  • Encourage hands-on STEM learning with the Teifoc Real Bricks Building Starter Set ($74.90). It features 100 percent natural materials such as real bricks and non-toxic mortar, so kids from six years and up can build realistic miniature houses. The mortar is water-soluble – soak any completed construction in water and dry the bricks to reuse them. Your child will enjoy hours of creating again and again!
  • Combining trains and fairies, the Bigjigs Fairy Town Train set ($149.90) will appeal to preschoolers (three years and up) to create imaginative railroad adventures. The brightly coloured set uses child-friendly paint and lacquers on high-quality solid wood.

Kids’ toys and gear for the active kid

Kids on the Move came about from a concern for kids’ safety when travelling around Singapore in taxis and school buses. Since launching its first product, the Ridesafer child restraint travel vest, the online retailer of kids’ toys and gear has expanded its range for travel on planes too. For this summer, when there won’t be as much overseas travel as usual, there’s an Out and About range of products for families that are spending time in and moving around Singapore.

We’ve got our eyes on…

  • The Small T wooden tangram puzzle ($25 per set, $80 for combo set of four). Here’s a brainteaser that will keep anyone aged seven to 77 years occupied for long periods of time. The puzzle is portable and works well as a travel game or at home.
  • If your kids are asking for their own smart watch, check out the Myfirst Fone R1 ($229; use code “TAKE10” for 10% off). It allows young ones to stay connected with voice and video calling, GPS tracking and a one-touch SOS button. Other features include a fitness tracker, music player and camera.
  • Kids from four to eight years will be excited to pack for a field trip or a sleepover when they have the Zinc Flyte Luggage Scooter ($179; 30 per cent discount on the price until 31 August, 2021). It combines a cabin-size luggage with a scooter that can be easily folded for convenient storage. Choose from 12 fun designs.
