Hair masks and scalp products, reviewed!

22nd July 2020 by Anthia Chng 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/best-scalp-products-sensitive-scalp-treatments-hair-mask-review/

From scalp products and hair treatments that soothe and exfoliate sensitive scalps, to hair masks for smooth hair, here are five fab products reviewed.

PHS Hairscience ADV Elixir, $238

This smooth and runny exfoliant is packaged in a glass bottle with a dropper, which makes dispensing more hygienic. It soaks into the scalp without any oily residue and smells like fresh berries. Once you’ve applied it, the scalp tingles a little, like a cooling menthol sensation, and you need to massage it into the skin for 10 minutes. It rinses out easily and I do feel that my scalp is smoother.

The product also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, thus improving scalp health and hair growth over time. Tip: follow up with the ADV Repair Hair Mask ($120) for super smooth, shiny and thicker feeling lengths.” – Danielle Rossetti

Available at phshairscience.com

The Phytonovathrix Energizing Hair Mass Lotion ($79.90) from French haircare brand Phyto (phyto.sg). This lotion is formulated with 99 percent botanical ingredients like Globularia stem cells and tulip extract to strengthen and add volume to weak hair.

Iryasa Scalp Enriching Gel, $50

“This local brand uses natural, plant-based and vegan ingredients in their products. The scalp gel contains tea tree and rosemary essential oils, Indian gooseberry to remove dead skin cells plus aloe vera to moisturise and soothe the scalp – great for dandruff, eczema and other scalp concerns.

It has a lime-like scent and doesn’t sting when I apply it. I leave it on overnight and rinse it off easily the next day, and I do feel that my scalp is smoother and my hair softer after using it. No scrubbing is needed; just a gentle massage that helps for a good night’s sleep as well.” – Danielle Rossetti

Available at iryasa.com

Botanist Botanical Raspberry & Apricot Hair Mask, $32

“I use the Botanist Botanical Raspberry & Apricot Hair Mask twice a week to give my damaged locks some extra care. It’s made of natural ingredients like rosemary and avocado. I love its fruity scent and the fact that my hair feels smoother right after I rinse it off!” – Lindsay Yap

Available at sephora.sg

Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask, $53

“I’ve been bleaching my hair for years now, so I’m always looking for nourishing masks to hydrate my ends – trust me, I have about a dozen! The Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask is the only one I love. It’s super hydrating without making my hair feel heavy or sticky after. Plus, there are over 6,000 reviews and a 4.5-star rating on Google to back me up!” – Michaela Bisset

Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector, $46

“Olaplex has long had an army of women vouching for its results online, so two months ago I decided to put the Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector to the test. I added it to my haircare routine; a small amount on damp hair twice a week, leaving it for 15 minutes before resuming my regular shampoo and conditioner routine. Despite the high price tag for just a small 100ml bottle, I find that the product goes a long way. Plus, the results are proving effective – I’ve noticed less breakage, reduced frizz, more shine and an overall healthier hair condition.” – Leanda Rathmell

Available at sephora.sg
